Looking for new ALL MOUNTAIN skis. HELP NEEDED

Hey whats up NS, I am currently in the market for buying some new sticks and could greatly use some help making a decision .I AM A LEVEL 3+ SKIER from Virginia but I ski out west every year and will be moving out to Colorado next ski season. I will be heading out to Lake Tahoe in 3 weeks for my out west trip this year and I am looking for a TWIN TIP SKI that RIPS ON THE GROOMERS and HANDLES EQUALLY AS WELL IN SOME DEEP POW AND TREES and maybe A LITTLE BACKCOUNTRY. I am not concerned much with the park aspect as much but I do like to hit some jumps and do a spin occassionally. I have been looking at the SALOMON SHOGUN, ROSSIGNOL S3, VOLKL BRIDGE, K2 PEP FUJAS. I am open to any reviews/suggestions. I am currently 22 YEARS OLD, 6'3" and weigh 175 LBS. I was thinking anywhere from the 180-190 cm range. I also do not have any serious budget limitations as I will consider that on my own. Thank you for all the help

Atomic Blog 185, 110 underfoot w some camber and rocker in the tip and tail, also the access which is 100 underfoot if u want something a little better for the groomers,. i'd also look at line blend, on3p jeronimo, or try and demo some stuff. but i wouldnt get anything less than 110 underfoot...i've skied s7's in almost everything on the east and at mammoth and as long as you have a decent side cut and a little bit of camber you should be good just about anywhere but still kill it when its deep

Thanks for all the recomendations man. I love the ON3P Jeronimo but I am headed to Lake Tahoe in 3 weeks and it seems like ON3P skis can take quite a while to receive skis from them so I am not sure if that is enough time. I think I am looking for something more in the 95-100 mm at the waist. I have no doubt that I could handle a wider ski on groomed runs but I do spend a significant amount more time in the trees and in knee high pow that I do in the waist deep stuff so I'm not sure if I do need that wide of a ski. I definitely do not want to lose any high speed performance on in bounds runs due to having too much of a powder ski that does not fit my style but I do no want something that will shred the tress/groomers but float equally as well in pow. Thanks for any help

189 surface one life is the ski for you! stiff enough for a person your size, super fun ski that basically kills it all over. at 112 underfoot i think its the perfect all around all mtn ski. floaty in the pow, holds an edge incredibly well on groomers considering the small contact area, and they are literally the lightest ski ive been on.

Wow, thanks for all the replies. It seems like everybody is recommending a ski that is wider than I originally intending on buying. I thought basically everything 100 mm or over was too wide to carve up the groomers but apparently that is not the case. I really like the Czar but that may be a little too wide for my taste. Maybe the Shogun would be better suited? I am also a fan of the Line Blends and the Volkl Bridge. I am still kinda in the dark in which direction I should head if I want to buy skis at ~100 mm or stay in the 90-95 mm at the waist range

Every ski is currently in stock, I can get a pair in the mail today and have them at your door in three days via ground.

We had delays earlier in the year due to a supplier coming up short on edge material, the delay sucked, but we got everyone skis before Christmas. Small manufacturers kinda get shafted by larger supply companies, we're a drop in the bucket compared to the big guys.

Ginko, thank you so much for the reply. I actually sent an e-mail to Scott earlier today concerning a pair of skis. I was asking whether you would recommend the Vicik or the Jeronimo. I feel like the Jeronimo may be more of park ski than what I am looking for but I am concerned about the width of th Vicik for carving and bombing down hardpacked/groomed runs. I am 6'2, 170Lbs, and I am an advanced skier. Thank you in advance for any help

I also wanted to say that you guys have a ridiculously awesome website and story. Its really great to see such a small business begin to succeed in a market dominated by giants. ON3P is truely representative of what can happen with hard work and dedication

I'm pretty sure you'd want the 181 Jeronimo over the 186 Vicik. I've seen Kip spin in the park on Viciks, but its got a half twin tail... great for touring and skinning, but not great for landing large 5's.

J-mo would be a good fit, 96 underfoot, camber, rocker tips and tails, bamboo and carbon fiber core, beefy bases and edges. I'd mount yours at -3 from true center (recommended), they do well all mountain there. It'll be a good transition ski, you get to try out rocker, and if you get hooked on pow, it'll move into a hardpack/ice ski sorta slot in your quiver, making way for a dedicated pow ski. It would make a great transition ski for your move.

Ginko, just ordered my first pair of ON3P skis through your website. Called out to your shop and someone very helpful answered and helped me with some of my questions. I decided to go with the Jeronimo 181 over the Vicik 186 as you suggested. I'm so stoked and cannot wait to shred these at Tahoe in a few weeks. I have no doubt they're going to live up to all my expectations. Do you have any specific binding you would recommend for a skier like myself? They will be getting mounted in Virginia before I leave so I'm hoping buy it then get it mounted at my local shop? Thank you so much for all the help. If these skis are half as good as my experience so far they will be my best skis ever by far



P.S. Whats good with the stickers on the website?? Trying to have some steez out my new rides

Sticker pack will be under the shipping label, dont toss the box till you retrieve them!

I think everyone around here will pretty much recommend whatevers burly, so s916, fks, jester's are common suggestions. I think you might be able to get away with a less serious binding, but if you've had problems in the past with bindings breaking, might make more sense to spring for something a bit burlier. The resell value is definitely higher too. Evogear and backcountry are good sites to start your search at.

You'll enjoy the J-mo for that, it does really well on groomers and park and still pretty well on variable terrain. My favorite ski of all time is the J-mo.

The Atomic Blog is also a fuck-ton of fun :)

I can't wait man. I talked to the guys up at ON3P and they helped me out a lot picking this ski. I'm sure its going to annihilate my 78 mm waist Atomic Triplets.
