mmm...vermont...you're probably gonna want to get something more ice friendly...if my memory serves me right, its more of a powder ski...i'd recommend something a bit narrower, and with a good shape/edge

^agreed, I ride motherships and although they're pretty sweet in a wide variety of terrain ice is not one of them, in ice they're sketchy as hell, they're dope skis but they're just too wide for ice.

i'm gonna have to say i dont agree with you guys.

i rocked the mother ship the first year they came out, and sure, you skid a bit on ice, but you can make em work. for spring skiing, and that really awesome 3 foot thick sugar snow that the east coast is known for, i couldnt think of a better ski.

the new ones have the titinal metal strappy things in them to give them a little better grip on the firm stuff as well.

It depends on what skiing you will be doing primarily. If its hardpack and park skiing in the east, Mike Nicks or Skogens, as mentioned above will best suit your needs. Check those out, but I don't see how the Mothership Flite will help you out on the East Coast. You can always use a fat ski like Pocket Rockets, Seth Pistols, Motherships...on East Coast ice, but you might enjoy your skiing more with a pair of Mike Nicks if you want to stay with skiing Lines.

1260's are nice but most of the regular line skis are the same.

for east coast, definitely dont go with the mo'ships. like everyone else said, go mikenick or skogen. i think the chronics would be sick out there too.

i guess so, i used to go there fairly often, wow, i feel like a nerd. but yea, its probably me you;re thinking of.



i;ve skied pretty much every thing they;ve got cept for this past seasons new stuff because of my old job there. but just to add something to my comment, i actually dont care what i ski on, i just kinda make it work. if that means i have to change my turn stlye or whatever, it doesnt bother me. id probably be the worst ski tester out there.

^ Justin is right, if you are a good skier, ice isnt gonna stop u on the new Mo'Ships...their super grippy and just an all around sweet ski. I rode my mike nicks 05 (already 86 underfoot) in Timberline after it rained all night and froze, and they still held an edge perfectly, and i had like 40 lbs of camera equipment/tripods strapped to my back

Hibachi King drops 9/9/04...and it shouldnt suck! hah
