Just say, in 1 month, some country invaded your country. you were born in that country, lived there your whole life, had a house, and a dog.
Now Just say your army was not capable of keeping the outside force out.
Woulndt you do anything to protect your house and dog? would you not stand up to an invading force?
Then how would you feel if you knew that people for other countries were calling you a 'bastard', 'fucker, 'homo', because you defend your OWN country IN YOUR OWN COUNTRY!
You would probably understand why poeple would call you this if u attacked another country, but defend your own?
I hope everyone who reads this actually thinks for 1/2 a second next time they call an iraqi a fucker who deserves to die, or that they had it comming.
I mean honsetly, it is their country, what do you expect them to do? They didnt attack you!

everyone is talking about setting up a new iraqi democracy and everything, but i personally cant foresee the americans just get up and leave once its done. i think that the americans will well and truly have more than just a finger in the pie.
this is all purely my own opinion (formed from facts and historical examples), but i truly believe that due to the overwhelming sway that america will eventually hold over iraq, be it oil deals, trade deals etc etc, that iraqis will not ever be given the right to a 'true' (western-style) democracy.
its a pity really, that the americans didnt wait just a little longer to try and convince the UN to help with the war, because if they had, we'd be facing a much cleaner, better organised, more hopeful reconstruction.
also i completely agree with however above me said that the americans would have been much better off spending their billions of dollars on american education, homeland security etc, rather than fighting a war in the middle east that doesnt look like ending any time soon.

most of this iraqi 'army' has been a part of the organization since they were barely teenagers....and probobly knew they were gonna be part of it by the time thye could understand what it meant to be apart of the army. Most of them have been brain-washed by saddam before any of this took place, even before 9/11, they have been brainwashed into thinking that americans should be shot/shot at on sight, and attacked when they feel threatened by the american troops.
also many of the remeinaing iraqi soldiers hide out in small towns scattered around the country, in small groups, and just sit in houses with ammo crates and stock-piles of small one/two man weapons. think about how you would feel if a group of soldiers supporting a leader taht you hated for so many years were sitting in the hut/house next to you just waiting for americans to come. It would be a little scarry maybe.....yeah, i would be scared to leave my house. this (in my opinion) is a form of terrorism because it is causing great fear, its a mental terrorism,
