Replying to Already thinking about a ski for next year
so my park skis this year are dying: edge cracks everywhere, base is seperating in some spots, etc. i don't blame the skis, i bought them with 2 seasons on them already, expecting to use them for urban/backyard setups. now i'm certain that i'll need another ski for next year. i want something that will ski nicely, not cost a fortune, and last me close to 2 years.
before i start this off, i'm 5 foot 9 and a half inches, 145 pounds. i hit about 60% rails, 40% jumps, park 90% of the time, groomers 5% of the time and shallow pow 5% of the time, the most being about a foot. (stupid east coast small mountains)
i've decided that the armada el rey would be perfect for me. besides being stiff (i like to butter, press, and i've never hit a jump bigger than 40 feet) they seem perfect. on the contrary, i flexed a pair at my shop and they didn't seem too much stiffer than abangs. from what i've heard, armada also makes bombproof skis, with their heat treated thick ol' edges. these will ONLY be used at my ski hill, no backyard/ summer/ urban. they aren't expensive (like 300 dollars on armada's site) and i'm thinking that a 178 el rey would suit me nicely..
input/ suggestions?
