if its a wider tie, go with a wider knot. The stiffer and newer the tie is makes it easier to make the knot wider. Id its a skinny tie go with a skinny knot.
NOOO! thats the worst. I fucking hate when I see people wearing a skinny tie with a skinny ass knot. Its soo unsightly and looks horrendous, no class. /rant
depends on the collar. and the diameter of your neck looking in the mirror, 2d. 4 in hand is easiest, i like the half windsor. fits my neck well and works nice with a spread collar. only wear a spread collar if you have a narrow face and a more traditional collar points down shirt if you have a wide face. wearing a spread collar with a wide/fat face makes your face look fatter.
also pull the tie tighter, and use your fingers and bring the tip as close as to the top of the collar, where the fold begins, and then hold the tie out horizontally with your hand and tighten it, then let the tie fall flat, you don't want to tie pressed against your shirt, but sticking more out, it creates definition rather than just being pressed flat which is boring.
Thats a Half Windsor in your picture. Looks pretty solid, my favorite knot, can't go up to the full windsor with that shirt but try to pinch the sides and make the knot into a Y shape like people do with the full windsor. Boss status
your angry settle down skinny ties only work on skinny dudes. big dudes in skinny ties look foolish. all i tie is the half windsor. full windsor is just too much knot. but in all seriousness bowtie
Full windsor. I always find the half becomes bit mishapen after a little while. However it depends - if it is a thin tie it is better with a thinner knot, but hopefully your not wearing a thin tie...
it really depends on the thickness of the fabric used to make the tie that dictates the size of the knot. a thicker fabric tie is easier to make the dimple at the top near the knot, but it also limits you to the half windsor, but it does depend on the size of your next also.
Windsor like a boss! i have to wear ties all the time for school, old people events, and other things MEMBERS OF THE STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION do.
it gets the proper attention you need, and you look like a straight up pimp. women love it.
