Well I'd be pretty pissed too. First run he landed pretty deep on his first hit while doing a dub 12, and second run wasn't as good as it could of been.
Well his first run was a 95.00, then on his second run he got better and came out and won with a 96.50. They take the highest score so on the leader board it was Kevin Rolland with 96.50.
WISE GOT ROBBED VALENTINE AND BYRON SHOULDA BEEN BELOW HIM. Also, Marcus, people are saying the run that Kevin actually WON with his first one, which is true
You don't get it... He won the competition before his second run because nobody beat his first run, and he went last. So, when he dropped in for the second run, he had already won, but instead of doing a mellow victory lap, he one-upped himself and skied better than the first run.
So he had already won with a 95. He ended up with a 96.50. It was deserved!
Byron's run was significantly cleaner with more consistent amplitude and solid grabs. While Wise's run was crazy because of the r. dub 12, he lacked grabs in a huge way (at least 3 tricks were not grabbed at all), consistent amplitude throughout the run and he didn't land all of his tricks as clean as he should have (ie. landing at the bottom of the tranny). Wise's r. dub 12 was so insane though.
It's truly hard to say who had not the best run, but the second and third. Rolland has become one of the best pipe skiers ever, but guys like dorey, wise, and others are all so high-talent, and put down amazing runs. As much as i love to see some style in the pipe, i don't think that Byron deserved 3rd over wise.
i mean, dont get me wrong, taylor seaton and banks gilberti put down my favorite pipe runs ever at DewMont, but that was a first ever. yes he had a little deck, and yes, he hip checked, but i dont think he got the credit he deserved.
