one of my friends has soloman suspects. they are great for doin tons of park. u can take them off big air but there also really buttery.

well, i have the 2012's. and they are my favorite skis i have ever ridden. im 5'9 145 and i have the 179 cm.

park: super light, low swing weight. medium flex makes butter really fun, rocker ( when you dont get you spins fully around and you land sorta sideways you dont catch and edge, you kinda slide and ski away) really fun on rails....

powdaa: i ddint realize how good these skis were gunna be in pow, first day i used mine, it was knee deep pow and they were soo fun, turned so nice

groomers / allmtn: really fun on natural features, just carving down some runs, turn sooo nice.

im not good at explaining stuff and describing stuff, so hope that helps.

Hmmm... I really don't want to say thanks but... thanks :) It's pretty much all I've heard about the appearence in the pist, not so much, almost nothing... Almost everyone is telling me (not me but the one who's asking in an another thread...) to mount the ski in the center, is it the best for the pist also?, I do prefer park, offpist but want it to be good in the pist also ...

I have mine mounted +1cm from center, there still not true center at that but they feel really good. On groomers they carve really well, I just wish they made them a little bigger, Im 5'11 and 170lbs and my 179's do feel quite short when skiing them fast. For most park stuff though the size feels good.

this would be my review as well except they have absolutly no durability im about 15 days into mine and theres no more rocker in on tail and the front tail on one of the skis is starting to deleaminate

I just rode the new 186 2012 today, I really liked it, it felt more stable then my current 179's but not to big to throw around. I think I still prefer the 179 for park but the 186 is a really good all round ski.

Also durability wise no issues with mine either. The tails have straightened a little but no more then I would expect through hard use. It hasnt affected the performance at all and if anything have made the tails even more playfull.

A kid who rides at my hill has 2012's, and seems to like them, they have different construction than the Suspects like the "Total Edge Reinforcement" and sandwich construction.

What is your problem? You've been here, what, maybe a half of a year? What made you the authority on threads in gear talk?
The kid just wanted to hear some feedback on skis he was looking to buy; not very many people post in the review section as it is. For all you know he could have already read those. And most people want to hear more than a handful of reviews before they drop $500 or so on new skis.

How would you feel if someone acted all high and mighty and told you to Google all the stuff you wanted to buy in your 400 WTB threads? Get off your high horse, champ.

I know a kid who is riding and competing on these skis. He loves them in the park; plenty of pop and power for big air and really good on the rails. However, the edges suck. After three weeks they had cracked edges and Salomon has no interest in warrantying them. Salomon market these skis as a park ski with all of the new innovations for park riding and then the edges don't hold up and Salomon's warranty departments first question is "Have these been used on rails?". Of course they have been used on fucking rails - they are a park ski and that's what they are for!!!! Sucks for Salomon as the kid in question is one of the up and coming. Oh well; ride them until the edges fall off and then get something else.

123-91-116 is the first thing i love about them. they are versatile and shred everthing so well. i had a snowday and took them into 16'' of fresh and they just floated thru and landing in pow was just too easy. the rocker is a little weird at first but you will love it after a few days. in the park they are nice because they are sooo poppy and light. nollies and ollies are easier and you can get them higher than a normal ski. you can also press the shiit out of them. did i mention they are light? almost doesnt feel like you have skis on your feet. havnt got a good one yet but if you can grab tru nose you can just twerk that ski and get some awesome flex with your grab. have any specific questions?

Bump... Specefic questions, hmm... I'm not a very advanced skier, so will the 2012 be a good skier to get better all over the mountain? (I'm skiing like 35% offpist, 40% and 25% pist, don't know if you guys need to know but...) Are the Salomon 2012 good on icy pist condition? Thanks, you'll get k+++++

the best thing about them is they are good everywhere! i just had them on straight ice for two days and they can hold an edge but its not where they excell. i was still making huge gs turns on them and they are sturdy. the 179 feels shorter but holds like a longer ski
