So I was thinking. People are commonly labeled as liberals or conservatives, which is fine by me, I understand the traditional definitions as they pertained to our country say 50 or 100 yrs ago. But it seems to me liberal and conservative have taken on a whole new meaning. Basically, liberals now are trying to point out the laws that some conservatives are breaking and the conservatives spend their time trying to cover up and make up excuses. Now it seems, if you point out Bush circumventing the constitution, the fact that he has a PERSONAL LAWYER that he keeps with him on many occaisions, and the rest of his obvious failings, you are labeled a liberal but it seems to me that these are very black and white issues, very RIGHT and WRONG. And then 'conservatives', their job is use clever wording or lies to say what Bush is doing is alright. Does anyone think it is odd the lengths the Admin. is going through to prove Iraq had ties to Al-Queda? You would think they would've given up and admitted already there was none but they are attempting to authenticate these bizarre and very vague documents that hint that maybe a few Iraqi officials contemplated talking to Al-Queda officials. Ocam's razor here people: the simplest solution is usually the correct solution. I know most conservatives are just that, traditional conservatives in their views of economics, social reform, etc. But it seems more and more that of those in power, the conservatives are those who are breaking the law and trying to cover for themselves using clever wording, and the liberals are those saying 'look! this is completely obvious! this admin is breaking 100s of yrs of laws! just look!' and then they are labeled as liberal and therefore their views are simply labeled as liberal media or liberal slander against the conservatives. I dunno, it just seems that way in leui or recent events.
