Fuck the Police

Just heard this on the news, by an internal investigation (police investigating police) this use of excessive force last year after a brawl at a Victoria night club was deemed to be justified/acceptable. Fuck the British Columbia RCMP, these sad excuses for human beings need to be taken off the street immediately, but sadly the law is on their side.

do you have any idea how police work is done, at all? It isn't given the highest priority. There just happen to be more people violating traffic laws at any given moment than there are murders, drug deals, kidnapping, etc etc.



I agree with most of what you posted after this one, about speed limits etc, but as someone else said, the laws are made to accommodate as many as possible. I am a fan of minimum speed limits though. Nothing worse than somehow getting stuck behind someone going 40 when the limit is 65.

Watch some videos/look at pics of riots in the early 1900s, or perhaps the civil rights protests.

Yes, those were riots and protests, but the behavior of the police in those cases is 100x worse than anything that happens these days

I fail to see how turn of century police brutality in riots and protests which occurred during almost authoritarian regime types have any real connection to a cop kicking a guy in the stomach outside a bar in 2010...

because you're blaming george bush and the war on terror which implies that people being brutalized by police and accepting it is a subject that dates back no further than 2001.

I was pointing out that the police have been doing this shit for years, most likely since the first organized police force came to be. George Bush and the war on terror have absolutely nothing to do with this discussion, whatsoever.

haha ya, a few years ago we were throwing a rager at my place, and i was the only sober roomate, so i had to go talk to the cops. Literally no sooner had i said hello officers, my roommate yells, from the inside "FUCK THA POLICE!"

i was immidiatly put in cuffs, and pushed up against a car, and had a cop explain to me how hurtful it is to hear that on a daily basis. And you know what, its true. it sucks to be bashed at every turn by the people you put your life on the line to protect. It ended up being all good cause i was generally respectful with them.

Generally spoiled immature kids think they are hard when they have had a few experiences with cops, so that gives them the cause to say fuck the police. respect gets respect.

It sucks because the only time that you have to deal with cops is when something bad has happened.

Im not blaming Bush about police brutality, im saying that his obsession with national security and what has followed has made people more able to accept excessive force, whether internationally or domestically. Of course i have no idea if it is true... just an observation. There was a time when people didn't automatically assume the person being brutalized "deserved it".
