Just heard this on the news, by an internal investigation (police investigating police) this use of excessive force last year after a brawl at a Victoria night club was deemed to be justified/acceptable. Fuck the British Columbia RCMP, these sad excuses for human beings need to be taken off the street immediately, but sadly the law is on their side.

I agree also, that's so damn shady to do that. Kid dies in a skiing accident and 21 year old tools sitting in their mom's basement make fun of the tragedy. I'm shocked someone would even make fun of a kids death.

Shit like this makes me feel bad for all the good cops, the majority of cops. The only media attention they get is negative, so the public doesn't trust them. They just gotta get rid of the bad apples.

right, speeding is completely legally and everything.

Said in almost every other police thread on here...this is NOT ALWAYS a major crime to solve. You people watch too much fucking CSI and shit. The vast majority of police work is paperwork, meetings, and dealing with stupid people. Yes, there are murders in places, but what do you think, the cop who pulls people over is immediately taken off traffic duty to come solve the murder? They have people specifically trained for everything.

Yea, hassling commuters should be held at the highest priority. Fuck serving warrants, or investigating, just collect money from people while creating an infinitely more dangerous situation on the road by having several cars stopped on the shoulder. You guys are right, speeding is illegal, it's pretty much the worst thing a person can do.

you really have no idea about the real world do you? cops are not the same as detectives. detectives, and cops are not the same as SWAT(sometimes they are).

Cops are there to ensure laws are followed, and public order is upheld.

Getting mad at cops is like getting mad at a another player in a football game for hitting you too hard- its there motherfucking job.

its called a social contract. when you enter it you agree to follow all the rules or suffer the pre determined punishment.

If you dont like it, move out of the country. pretty simple. if you break the law, expect consequences.

seriously though, is it really that hard to understand the concept of "dont do the crime if you cant do the time"

no, of course not. I do speed, but there is a difference between speeding and being an idiot. when I go over the limit I know I am now liable to be pegged with a fine, however, that is a choice I have made and I still follow all the other rules of the road. People who are idiots (80 in a 50 zone, 140 on highway) are the ones who cause speed limits to be so heavily enforced.

That's the best part, if you follow all the other rules the speed limit is moot. You'll never cause a crash if you obey every rule except speeding.

thats dumb. NH cops r so dumb. they have nothing to do. my friend bought a cigar on his 18th birthday and got pulled over. cop asks him for his license and sees that he turned 18 that very day and then asks him what time he was born because he technically couldnt of been 18 and still had tabacco lololol the kid said like 8 am so he wouldnt be bothered any more but it was still so dumb

no i dont care if you think the laws are stupid. i just get annoyed when people try to place blame on cops for enforcing the law. ya it might seem petty, but if you do break the law, expect consequences. I dont agree with a lot of laws, and i dont follow a lot of them. but i realize and understand that i could get caught by the police at anytime for breaking those laws. And i DONT BLAME THE POLICE for doing their jobs.

nah, people crossing the street(ped or cars), use depth perception combined with the expectation that you are doing the speed limit, to determine if it is safe or not to cross. you endanger others when you speed.

and cars entering the roadway have the same situation. If you can't judge how fast a car is coming at you wait for a light or for it to pass. A bad judgement call isn't worth your life, as well as the occupants of the car you get in front of. You endanger others when you enter an occupied road.

People are old and dont make great judgements. THat is why the speed limits are there: to provide the safety neccessary to protect the vast majority of citizens.

very few people can live up to your standards, whether you like it or not. the rules are in place to protect the general public, not just the young guns like yourself. If everyone was ken block, then ya we caould raise the speed limits, but we have to accomodate grandpas and shit.


you think to much of yourself, and your standards when deciding if something is safe or not.

not quite, in fact I'd love it if roadways were like slow zones, where speed differentials are the issue. Even though I'm against slow zones(same situation, ski how you want but in control and there won't be any issues) The comparison isn't bad but on the road, people should move over if they're impeding traffic.

also to go with your ski slope comparison, a car or pedestrian walking across the road entering the road whatever, would be more like a skier entering a new trail without looking up hill. Not like someone overtaking cars already on the road.
