anyone have any experience? interning this summer at one not to experienced in this field but figure i will learn a lot and try to get a major internship next summer. just wanted to know what to expect

Did it last summer. Loved it. I work from 6-7am to 10pm on good days. Bad days were 6am-4am. You are expected to be there late, even if you aren't doing anything. Pay is amazing, and it should be. You will also be everyones bitch. People will test you just to see how you respond. If someone asks you to do something, go do it. "no" isn't in your vocabulary.

Before people start hating on IB, it isn't for everyone. It's a tough line of work but is rewarding the further you go with it. PM me if you have questions OP.

You're from Ontario right? Where did you work? What school are you at? I'm trying to get one for this summer but I keep striking out on these god damn interviews. Just got another rejection this morning from HSBC.

i have a few acquaintances who do it/have done it.

I'm not saying it's bad or good, it's all a matter of what your priorities are. As 0ptions said, the hours are crazy, and so is the pay.

You will get paid a lot, but you'll also sacrifice your free time for it. So if its worth it to you, go for it. My opinion is to go for it if it interests you and you have a passion for it, and then get out after a few years when you can move up. Good luck man! Make that paper!
