I'm 5' 10", 130. 183cm's right for me?

Title says it. I'm 5 foot 10 and still groing, I way 130 pounds and I'm wondering if 183cm center-mount twin tips are going to be right for me. I want them mostly for park but also for all mountain.

If it helps I'm currently running a pair of 175cm directional skis and my taller brother is 6' 3", so I'l probably wind up at about 6' 2" or so.

I'm looking at a pair of surface watch life right now but if you have a pair of twin tip 178-184 for under $200 including shipping, pm me.

sounds about right. you would probably have an easier time with a little shorter skis if you were using them only for park.

im 5"10 and my skis are 171.. i also weigh 155 pounds. its your choice but personally i would go a little shorter than a 183 if i were you. especially since you are pretty light you might have trouble handling the longer skis in the park as well as mountain.. but thats just me go with what feels right

if you have some thick, long, 190 sticks but cant ski for shit, and i can hop on snow blades and beat the fuck out of a groomer becuase i know how to use it, i will get the ladies. are you picking up what i'm throwing down?

130 pounds.. you must be a stick your height makes sense for 183 but ur weight goes more around 171

yeah you should dip those skis in butter and eat them in hopes of gaining some weight. you have to be fat if you want to make it in skiing.

If they're going to be your park ski, I'd go for something under 176, probably around 171-173. I got 180s for my first year skiing park and I really regret it, they can get hard to control on rails sometimes and they aren't easy to throw around at all.

It all depends on you're skill level my friend. You don't want to go out and get 183s if you're just a beginner, you might not be able to handle the ski and it could lead to injury. If you consider you're self more of a intermediate to advanced skier, go ahead and get the 183s but center (maybe even 2cm forward so you're leg is closer to center, thats what I do personally) the ski or yes they will feel too long. If you really want to be confortable with you're decision, ask one of you're buddies to borough his longer ski for the day (no less, you want enough time to get used to the ski) if they still feel too long at the end of the day, go with a 175-6 but nothing shorter or you will regret it.

Im 5'11 and around the same weight as you, i ski 176s. You need to take into account skill level though, ive only been skiing 4 weeks total and i they feel perfect.

I can't see 8cm going from the traditional mounted 175cm skis that I'm running now to the 183cm, center mounted, twin tip skis being a huge deal, but I've never used twin tips before so I don't know if they're harder to turn or handle or what. Maybe I'm missing something or just don't have the experience enough to know what the difference is.

Also I'm light but probably won't use the skis till next season and I'll be taller and heavier then, so I would be buying for next season.

Totally personal preference.

I am 5'10" 165lbs.

My park skis in the recent year have ranged between 171-181.

I hated my 171's (not the ski itself, just the length, skied it longer and liked it more)

I hated my 173's (both the ski and the length)

Loved my 178's (both the ski and the length)

Don't love my 181's. (the ski is great, the length feels a little long)


My powder skis range between 185-189 (although my next pair will be 193's)

the ski doesnt know how tall you are but it cant feel how much weight your putting in it.. for this year I'd say they would be too tall, but after a summer if you eat some food and quit being a skinny little bitch you should be aight.

5'11 135ish so sameish size and i ski 176's and they feel a little small, so 183s should be fine, think about this, 5cm is a little over 2 inches.

Ny 175s feel a bit small for directional skis but I don't know if twin tips handle differently or how differently they handle, so I guess that's my question.
