kinda... but that'd be like saying punk came from jazz. Part of a similarly informed chronology but no necessarily creating one from the other. Dubstep comes much more from drum and bass then Jamican Dub.

i would say garage would be the main influence, drum and bass definitely helped though

garage, dnb, dancehall, funky, 2step, grime. they are all influences.

yeah word, i was just pointing out there are much larger influences than drum and bass (such as garage)
