I really find this job appealing, which im sure many other nsers do as well, and i think itd be interesting and useful if someone who has a job at a major-or minor- park to give some input and their story behind how they got the job they have today or had

become friendly with the park manager. thats your best bet. i think a lot of mountains probably wouldnt turn you down if you seemed legit. mine can never find people to work on the crew.
be prepared to work hard though man..

that's how I got a job. actually my good friend worked in the park and basically told him I wasn't a dub who would work hard and I got hired as soon as I got to tahoe. Definitely gonna be working hard at times, sometimes all day, but then you get to ride a bunch and get paid, so that's dope. the bossman was cool with us skiing pow most of the day as long as we shoveled everything out by the end of the day.

and take pride in your park, don't just stand around and cool guy it all day long, make shit look good and then go kill it in uniform the rest of the day.

this is completely false. some members of the park crew at my mountain cant hit half the jumps or rails they build.

Not even making this up but one of the 3 or 4 questions I got asked in the interview was "Are you going to be throwing down and can you do it without getting hurt?"

I'm sure it's not always the case but everyone on the park staff was expected to hit every feature, which most of us many times every day. You HAD to hit new jumps first for every new build to make sure they were legit.

Even the big bossman who built everything at night would come out and toss inverted aerials on his snowboard when conditions were right.
