Roadtrip.. Worth stopping at PNS? Anone want to shred?

Whatup everyone,

Driving NH to CO starting tuesday, wondering if it's worth it to stop down at PNS for the day/night wednesday? Going to be bored as fuck driving alone (getting paid to bring a car out), if anyone is down to lap park with me let me know!

Also, if someone could post in here what PNS has set up it would be tight, or if there is a better option somewhere close I should consider.

Yo, perfect really is pretty small but our park has like a 3 jump section with a few rails scattered here and there, rainbow, whaletail/rollercoaster, few boxes, dub kink, hand rails, tall t rail. Kinda sad that i can name every rail in there but it might be worth stopping by just to see if its worth shredding.

forget this. Perfects set up is legit right now. About 16 rails up right now. Several sick muilti rail lines and some damn smooth jumps.

I;m pretty sure this is up to date with whats in the park.

yeah perfects always has a lot of riders. if your in the area maybe you could just take a day off and ski perfects and mad river!

We have I believe 16 rails right now, as well as our big air jump set up which is real nice. I'd say it's probably worth a stop.

if youre coming anywhere near Columbus, OH its definitely worth the trip to Mad River. Capital Park was voted the best park in the midwest last year.

This year is even better than last. If you have enough time it might be worth a day at Mad River and a day a PNS. Those guys definitely do a good job, as well.

Hit me up if you stop by Mad River - I'd like to know what you think of the park.

ps Capital Park has about 19 rails, 5 jumps, 4 excitebike jumps and a hit in the park-to-park area.

The momentum park has 4 rails and a few smaller jumps.

I'll be out there Wednesday (tomorrow) afternoon/early evening.

both parks are super sick and you will not be dissapointed. depends on your travel plans but either (or better yet both) parks would be a good stop

No one ever asks about PNS in 95% of MRM threads created and yet people from there still seem to post about it. Which is fine, most people (hopefully) like the resort they ride at and would like to promote it to others to come ride as well. I think both PNS and MRM put out really sick parks, especially for what they have to work with in the Midwest, so there isn't anything wrong with offering another resort to ride at in addition to if someone might be around the area. Just my two cents though.

To the individual who created this thread. You'd have fun at either place, PNS big jump is usually spot on from what I recall. You may as well stop and ride in either or both areas while you're taking the long haul out there.

We just need to west side story this argument and get it over with ha!

Anyway, take two days off. One to MRM and hit some ill rails, one for PNS to some ill jumps. Driving alone sucks anyway.

If you only have time for one, and you want to get some of your trip out of the way DEFINITELY stop at Perfects. If you've got enough time though, try and stop at both places.

Mad River has a longer and more mellow park run, and while Perfects has a smaller park, it flows really well and they take advantage of all possible space and give you nice fast laps.

It'd be nice to see more bipartisanship and less hate between MRM and PNS. While although they're "technically" competing businesses, they both draw crowds from different areas of the Midwest and so can therefore coexist. I live closer to Mad River so I go there, but if lived exactly in between the two, I would have to buy passes to both and alternate the days that I ski at each--I just couldn't decide.

If you guys wouldn't hype your shit so much it wouldn't be a problem. You came in this thread specifically to say that you have x number of rails, jumps and all that stuff, and nobody asked about it. There are probably 5 threads on the front page of this regional about how "awesome" Mad River is, and honestly, I'm happy for you guys that you have a good park. I remember just a few years ago when no one wanted to go there because it sucked. Just be a little humble about it, you don't have to spout off every week about what's new. Make a cult for it or something.

The hype is real!

A few years ago the current management wasn't in place. The hype will continue to grow. The park will only continue to get better. Capital Park is a park that is consistently changing and improving because they listen to their riders and are open to new ideas. You can do a lot with over 300 vert and two runs.

I was at PNS yesterday, and....

Both parks are sick. Shred both. Damn people bitching over parks. Skiing is about the joy we all get isn't it? Shit I might be wrong now days.

PNS was a lot of fun to ski around. There were a lot of novelty rails for my taste, but thats my opinion. The S rail is fun.

The jump is a little poppy for my liking. Tad, Tommy and Travis definitely know what they're doing and the park was in excellent shape with the weather cycle we just experienced.

Personally I would agree that MRM is better for rails and PNS has the larger jump between the two; however, I have more fun hitting 3 or 4 jumps at MRM plus 2 to 3 rails in the same run vs one large jump.

No matter where you are in the midwest its hard to maintain a park to its full ability. MRM has sick jumps but they're only as good as the weather allows. They're a lot better than they were two years ago and I look for them only to improve.

I would say that PNS is probably one of the most fun resorts to just ski around in the midwest. I had more fun yesterday cruising the mountain than hitting the park.

They actually cut some of the pop off that jump today, it's better now. We just don't have the room for a legit jump line. Something would have to change and that's not something I see happening anytime in the near future.

aside from either parks having this many rails, that many jumps, whatever whatever. One thing that i hear from alot of people, pns and mad river alike... is that mad river is basically a snowboarder world with little to no respect going to anyone who ski's there... yea pns's population is a little heavy on the skiier side, but we still vibe with the boarders.

don't mean to add to the never ending pns vs. MR argument here on NS, its fun to shred both places.....

^skiing scene is getting a lot better up here.  theres at least 10-15 of us that ski there consistantly and that number is definitly growing. and theres no hate between the boarders and skiers from what ive seen, i ride with boarders there all the time

Quite the rivalry I see. Anyways, I wish I had time for both but I won't be able to stop twice. PNS is the easiest place for me to stop in terms of timing and I would like to go wherever the larger jump is.. But If I had the time I would certainly be hitting up both. I should be getting to PNS between 12 and 2 on Wednesday and skiing as long as possible. If you see someone with orange pants, line chronic kryptonites and a black helmet shredding around don't be afraid to say whatup! I won't have anyone to shred with besides the people in my ipod...
