Pieps Avy Beacon

Someone in my area has one on craigslist for 60 bucks, when I hit BC its usually just booters but will probably end up convincing my friends to get beacons as well so we don't die

Definitely the least functional beacon on the market, but better than nothing.

Looks obsolete. if its analog and runs off of dual frequencies(European and American) then dont get it. Get a Tracker DTS, its reliable as it gets. Beacons are like helmets, its worth it to spend the extra money.

Yeah, it's definitely worth it to spend some extra money on a reliable beacon, it's a life or death situation. If you need help on the moneys I have a discount to a couple companies, PM me

i would drop the money on something new, saving that $100 or how much isn't worth the possibility if your beacon not working properly when you need it to

definately look for something newer. some of the older models get "loose" in their transmissions and won't broadcast on the frequency they should , meaning anyone with a newer beacon won't find you. Good beacons are getting cheaper (look up barryvox element), but even a more recent used beacon (tracker or somesuch) would be a better investment.

google Pieps 457 and look what comes up. I wouldn't get it. or trust it for that matter, save up and get a pieps DSP, Tracker, or my favorite the new Ortovox 3+
