Lake Tahoe community college

couldn't find a thread. anyone been to the place? i'm torn between attending a 4 year college (msu or u of u) or a community college to save some money. any info would be great. thanks

if you do go to a cc dont get sucked in and start slacking like the majority of students do/are. REalize that you are there exclusiely to save money, get great grades(lets be honest, cc classes are super easy), and then transfer to a real university in 2 years.

Yeah.

But honestly, I'd just go to SF City College. Its loads better than LT CC and if you hold a 2.0 you're guaranteed to get into some of the top UC's in California.

On the other hand,

after the first year, U of U costs slightly less than most CSU's do, and MSU will give scholarships for pretty much anything.

thanks. does anyone know what i would be classified as when i entered a four year. because right now i'm looking at 5 - 7500 dollars for my achievement award at msu that is for freshmen only. would i lose that chance if i went to a community college? in the long run it might even be more pricey due to the fact that the last two years of school would be around 30,000 if i couldn't get that scholarship

youd probly lose the scholarship...but if you did kickass with grades(not hard to do its a fucking CC) then you would qualify for other scholarships, and grants, and research opportunities.

The key to going the CC route is you HAVE TO kill it in the classroom...like a 3.7 minimum. again as long as you have good study habits and youre smart youll be fine. Ive found from friends and a few CC classes that a 3.0 in a university=a 3.5-8 in a CC
