i dont know about the bar graph at the beginning. The tolerance level should be much higher. If you are smoking everyday your tolerance goes way up. If you enjoyed this film watch the union, it's an hour long film about marijuana that has some great facts and IT TELLS THE TRUTH ABOUT MARIJUANA.

hemp and the marijuana buds are both from the cannabis plant. because they come from the same source, it is impossible to legalize one and not the other. the facts are shown just to show examples of other benefits of legalization, besides the ones directly related to use of the buds. and if people see the benefits of hemp, that may sway their opinion of legalizing marijuana. because the pros outweigh the cons

they arent the same plant.

the hemp plant that is used as a textile has no THC in it. It is a cousin of the smokable plant.

i love when people claim this shit "oh everyone will be high, they'll go to work high, everything will come to a halt." i mean really? does everyone walk around shitfaced right now? the simple-mindedness required to think that legalizing grass will have any effect whatsoever on productivity is something i can't even wrap my head around

not to mention the fact that business deals all over the world are conducted every day after multiple beers, scotches, etc. the most "respectable" things ive done in my career have been working with people who practically pour booze down your throat at lunch then it's back to work! if you have a problem with productive-as-shit people like me having a j when i get home after working my ass off, but dont have a problem with business decisions being made after 3 martinis at lunch, well.. that's just crazy

there has to be some reason why the states wont legalize it and tax it...just think of how driven the country is by capitalism and monetary gain...they would jump on it in a second, however...there has to be something that counteracts the amount of money made from the taxes generated.

maybe if they run out of oil they will turn to it, but that seems <1% likley...in terms less than 1% that they would run out oil supplies in our lifetimes and if they did they would legalize herb just to tax it.

if they dont legalize it in the next 30ish years, then i doubt it ever will be...but who knows they might have said the same thing about alcohol during prohibition and look at the shit now.

to be honest i was surprised at that response because usually your posts are pretty intelligent.

but you cant really blame me for not seeing the joke when 99% of the time people are argued into a corner about this, they resort to shit like that. i can work my ass off every day at a top level research center but as soon as i mention im for legalization, ohh, he must be an unproductive "pothead."

people seem to be too simple-minded to think in anything beyond black and white, caricatures of what really exist in life, simple and easy categorizations.. the fact that people are against grass being legal but are all for booze being so prevalent speaks volumes about what dictates our ideologies, and it sure as hell isnt logic or reason..

the opportunity just presented itself soo beautifully, i couldnt help myself. The trap was already set...and i currently have nothing better to do.


Just decriminalize weed. itll allow the dope growers to keep their livlihood, and allow me to smoke in peace. My biggest issue with legalization is that alot of my friends would lose everything they have, and rural northern california's economy would collapse

Its not the danger factor of this drug it is the fact that we would not get shit done. take Amsterdam for example there is lots of talk about law reform when it comes to pot because there is next to nothing work wise getting done in that city.

Thomas Geller, MD, Associate Professor of Child Neurology at the Saint Louis University Health Sciences Center, et al., wrote in their article "Cerebellar Infarction in Adolescent Males Associated with Acute Marijuana Use," published in Pediatrics in Apr. 2004:

"Each of the 3 cannabis-associated cases of cerebellar infarction was confirmed by biopsy (1 case) or necropsy (2 cases)... Brainstem compromise caused by cerebellar and cerebral edema led to death in the 2 fatal cases."







Liliana Bachs, MD, Senior Medical Officer at the Norwegian Institute of Public Health, et al., wrote in their article "Acute Cardiovascular Fatalities Following Cannabis Use," published by Forensic Science International in 2001:

"Cannabis is generally considered to be a drug with very low toxicity. In this paper, we report six cases where recent cannabis intake was associated with sudden and unexpected death. An acute cardiovascular event was the probable cause of death. In all cases, cannabis intake was documented by blood analysis."

i'm not saying the article said this, but can you point out the part that supports your statement that nothing is getting done? i had to skim it because my room is way too loud to focus on reading.

i don't understand this argument that weed would make it so we wouldn't do shit. if weed became legal, i'm sure it would be illegal to drive while high, as it currently is. i'm sure companies would still make sure people weren't high while on the job, as they currently do. it's not like people would smoke all day long. they would probably consume weed the same way they consume alcohol. for many, just on occasions. for others, maybe a joint when they get home after work to go with their beer. and it would probably only be legal in private. so where's the issue? most people are reasonable enough to know when we should smoke and when we shouldn't, the same way we know when to drink and when not to. sure their would be those who didn't know when not to smoke, but we face the same problem with alcoholics and it's not tearing the country apart.

eh i don't think that would change much. so you have kids from say, ages 18-25 who are now able to legally smoke. and they smoke probably the same amount as they used to, but more do (smoke). most of them can probably control their smoking just as well as they can control their drinking. anyone over the age of 25 is either over smoking weed, has never smoked weed and never will, or will smoke now that it's legal but is mature enough to control how much they smoke. only a small portion will go crazy with it. and if we're talking about the nation getting shit done, it's the people over 25 who are mostly in control of that. so i can't imagine there being a huge issue.

there are lots of valid arguments against legalization, i just don't think "we won't get anything done" is valid in any way whatsoever.

then it related alcohol to weed, alcohol is legal, MANY more people would drink than smoke... and I GUARENTEE YOU THAT MOST OF THOSE PEOPLE WHO DIED ALSO SMOKED WEED....

im not saying weed is unhealthy, it helps with many health problems, it also kills brian cells and stuff.

there are positives AND negatives. stoners over defend legality for no reason... nobody said it killed people, nodoby said its evil, nobody said anything...

Good point, I guess I was thinking of those that are perpetually high when I wrote that. Obviously a glass of wine at dinner or a bowl during chill out time is different than literally waking up and smoking every day all day or getting drunk every single day.
