I feel like people still don't get that its just a gopro and that you don't have alot of qualities you could get in a camera for 200-300 more dollars.

That's true. However, I think the reason for buying a gopro is to point and shoot. People that only use this camera generally don't care about composing a perfect shot. They just want to capture a fun day and there's nothing wrong with that.

i dont feel the need for it. when i use my gopro, its either on my head or on my friends pole mount, and when it is on the pole, it is wide enough that you can just point and go.

The LCD screen is good for immediate feedback or checking out how a new mount looked. It's not like I'm considering the rule of thirds on a 2 inch screen mounted to my head while I follow over a 60 foot jump.

agreed. i feel no need for it. but when i get my chesty mount, i could never get the angle right. so i missed a whole pow day of shots because the angle was off. that would be the only reason to have it

The first day we used a pole mount the basket of the pole was just barely in the bottom of the frame. Annoying to miss out on those and/or have to fix it all in post. I also had the exact same issue with the chest mount, it's impossible to find a good angle on that without practicing or getting immediate feedback.

dude an advice dont use the chest mount it sucks balls. it makes every drop look smaller, and i dont like at all the way it looks. either you see the skis and you can see where the guy is going, either you dont see the skis (which sucks) and you can apreciate the run.
just use the helmet mount, and build a small leech so you dont loose the gopro in the pow.

The question is why so many get a camera without a screen in the first place. :D Several helmet cams have integrated LCDs.

Can you list all of these several cams? I'm interested in them if they still accomplish the mission of the GoPro.
