Line Mastermind or Line Blend?

My last pair of skis Salomon Suspects got stolen and this time around I thought maybe there might be a better ski out there. So I was wondering if you own a pair of masterminds or blends could you post your opinion on which ski I should get, or should I just get suspects again or maybe even a better pair of skis you recommend.

im pretty sure the blend is a more advanced ski than the mastermind. it also has a bigger waist so it would be better in deeper snow but not as agile on rails

IMO, definitely go with LINE.I've skied 09' Chronics for 2 years now and absolutely love them, they've turned me onto LINE customer loyalty.

the Blend has a better flex pattern this year with early rise on the tip and tail. The Blend seems to have it all this year. but it is also a lot pricier than the Mastermind. Although the mastermind is really lightweight and flexy, if you tend to stay more in the park i say go with the Masterminds, if you like to rip all over the mountain and more backcountry, the Blends will probably suite you better.

I think the Blend because i almost got the MM's but then from a guy at a shop that they are a beginner ski for anything besides rails...

blends are for powder/ all mountain, masterminds are for park and all mountain. the masterminds have a soft flex pattern so there good for rails but over 40-45 feet jumps they get sketchy. i would go with the masterminds and mount them center if u ski 90% or more park.

dont get suspects

and if u also ski deep pow get blends

people tear up the park in blends, the early rise in the rip and tail makes them so playful. they handle the park fine

mastermind looks real gay, and the blends make you look super hood in and out of the park, mount em center every line ski mounted centre in my opionon, or get the schizo and they can move back and fouth

dude blends for sure. my buddys got 'em and they're fine in the park and still tear it up in the backcountry no question.

i have a pair of solomans&lines mm.. but if i were to go back in time and choose again i'd get the line blends or afterbangs.. I have the masterminds because that was basically the only ski they had my size in off season. I was lookin for an all-round type ski not strictly 100% park.. and plus line mm r cheap.. for me the masterminds r a more 'beginner' type ski as many put it but i disagree.. they turn well and are super flexy and can grab rails real well but they aren't too good in deep pow.. go for the blends &centre em

blends are by far the worst ski i have ever rode.
hands down period.

this is the 2 year old ones, felt like dead weights no pop, really heavy swingweight just overall not fun at all.

I have really love my blends, as said depends on what you are skiing.  But if its not 90% park get blends, they are awesome in the park, a little heavy but not going to stop you from doing anything you would on masterminds.  Blends are just a better all around ski

but theres WAY better all around ski, such as the Alpha 1 or the Halo to name 2

Gunna give you flotation in powder, while killing it in the park.

Surface watch lifes are alot lighter and more responsive then the blends as well, but edges arnt gunna hold up for extended rail use.

The difference between the mastermind and the blend is huge the first thing is the construction bled uses sidewall where mastermind uses cap, unless your sitting in the park all day you wont want the mastermind, the blend has a softer feel to it so it handels the park so well but on groomers or pow it rips i have skiied both before and really like the blend bought a pair this year awesome ski all around.

The 'minds are a lighter and flexier ski, thats what you want on rails... Anyway, OP, Blends are gonna be a weird transition from Suspects since they're more geared towards pow. Might I suggest you take a look at Chronics?

Who the hell would steal Suspects? They're terrible. Also lock it or lose it.

Dummy.

When I was first deciding on skis, I wanted Blends. But my brother and dad told me they'd be too wide for a guy who skis in Manitoba. So I got Anthems. I love them. But this years blends make me want them more.

I'm assuming since you came from a suspect and are looking at the mastermind and blend that you need a do it all ski since those are in no way the same category at all.

Blends can hang in the park, comfortable all mountain, but are really good for deep stuff. Contrary to the what everyone in this thread has said they only have early rise in the tip, not tail, dunno if this matters to you much.

When it comes to masterminds... buy the chronic cryps

If you want a do it all ski, float in deep stuff, shred all mountain, and ride park also look at the K2 Kung Fujas and Salomon 2012

hmm,blends are more expensive and are wider,master minds have capped side walls,low cost and are fairly narrow.for jibbing go mastermind i would say.

nahh the blends definitely rise early in the tail too.  but it's pretty subtle on both the tip and the tail, don't really notice it until the snow gets a little softer.

I guess your right, just looked at the website. I checked the out in the stop and the tip is rockered alot but the tail barely has any, dunno why.

I love my masterminds. They're great for everything in the park, and really durable. I have mine center mounted.

because they're meant for all mountain more than park, which if you're skiing all mountain, tip rocker gives you enough float, while the flatter tail gives your more power in the turns.

Throw the ON3P Jeronimo into the mix. It is a spectacular all mountain ski, and rediculously light and easy to spin on. Also check out the Salomon 2012. Just between the 2 you listed though, I would pick Blends.

I would say the blends I recently just got a pair and I love them! They are the ultimate one ski quiver. It is amazing when going through deep pow but is still great when you want to go through the park.
