Ruby clear vs. pink iridium = most baller low vis. lens?

Which one is it guys?

I can't even find many good pics of the ruby clear to compare it to the pink iridium. been riding pink iridium's but the inside lens got cracked.


if you have any other low vis yet some tint suggestions bring them out.

i know about hi yellow but im not a fan of being able to see right thru the lens.

I think HI Yellow looks pretty good. It's got a blue iridium coating over a yellow lens. Looks great and it is amazing at night, in overcast, and in snow.

the ruby lens is frickin moneyyyy. it's not quite clear, where there's a slight blue tint to them. the pink iridium has sort of a grey tint, so i'd say the ruby is better for cloudy days and at night

yea can kind of see your eyes through the ruby when it reflects dark stuff, but when it reflects snow and sky it is a very vibrant color

H.I. persimmon (what shannon is wearing ^) is also very good for low light, i feel like it makes things brighter, or at least gives it a yellow/orange tint so bumps stand out. plus it has a cool blue tint when youre outdoors

i have ruby clear and i feel like it looks the same as pink only instead of having a pink tinge its more like blue.. but by far my favourite lens and its sooo good. plus it looks amazing

ruby clear is sick, mine is scratched and the seal is broken. i wish i could find another one.

Just FYI I have pink iridium's and you can see though them. Also, they're not very good at all in flat light and I'm thinking of switching to yellow.

I've had the pink iridium already and its great but yeah in flat light it could be better.

i bought the ruby clear off ebay for $80 because I hope it performs even better in crappy light conditions.

You have no idea how great these lenses and goggles are. So comfortable, and it makes everything a real bright green looking color on those flat light days. So happy I picked up a pair!

I just need to be able to see the snow, and not be blinded on foggy/cloudy/dumping days.


You have no idea how many times in my pink irid's I found myself unable to gauge the terrain due the snow having no deptch. it just looks "white".......

I still vote for HI Yellow. The yellow tint makes everything seem brighter and really lets you see every contour in the snow. Perfect lens for when its snowing, when its cloudy, or for night skiing. It may not be fully mirrored, but it looks pretty cool (yellow lens with a slight blue mirror since it's an Iridium coated lens) Personally I'd rather use that than something that looks amazing, but doesn't let me see as well as I'd like.

WTF y they no have Ruby Clear for Splice?!?! I am not happy, that is the sickest tint. Looks like I'm gonna have to get Pink Iridium. I have been using my Grey Polarized lens at night (only lens I have) and it actually is surprisingly bright for being a pitch black lens. Still isn't great though, so I think I'm gonna go with the Pink Iridium for cloudy/night skiing.

yeah it makes me mad there's no ruby for splices, it is amazing. but be carely, make sure you find a pink iridium splice lens and not the new vr50 pink because it's way darker than the old pink.

ruby clear is probably one of the best lenses oakley makes for all conditions along with pink iridium. friend of mine just got his ruby clears yesterday and i would have sworn they were fire lenses at first. they definetly have a blueish tint to them but they look 100% baller and probably visibility a whole lot clearer at night and during flat light conditions. i myself have pink which work i only use for night becuase my eyes cant handle a light lens during the day, but they work perfectly for me at night. either way you are getting a good lens

Just an FYI, I have had the Ruby Clear for a couple of years and they are the sickest lens on the market. OH, and I have a brand new pair with matte white frames for sale in case anyone needs them :)
