I know the guy who designed the Fix. I went skiing with him today (he's dating/really good friends with my aunt) and he had NO clue how successful these googles were in the freestyle market. Why may you ask? Scott payed him to design and he did, and they haven't talked to him about that goggle since. I feel that the fact that he hasn't gotten any credit in it really kind of ruses me. He's working on another goggle for scott and they are sick, I got to see some 3d computer sketches and prototype stuff. (u jelly?) He told me some stories about some of his buddies and how they have been bribed to keep quiet, and I never knew that so much of this behind the scenes behaviour happened, but again, it seems really wrong to me. I believe that the designer should get a lot more credit than he/she actually does. It may just be the way of the trade but does anyone else agree with me?

I think all the big corporation are selfish, they just want the money for themselves (which makes sense) but just so they don't have to pay the guy

Was it not his choice to sign the contract? He could have stated he wanted royalty, but obv didnt.
Grow the fuck up, and learn how things work

going to have to say i dont really think its messed up, i think its only unfortunate that he didnt sell his services for a higher price or maybe start his own goggle company.. no that they didnt pay him more that it is more successfull after the fact.. ya know?

True, after pay isn't what I was getting after, but they basically dropped all connections with him when he was done, they didn't even tell him if his design was sucessful or not. He spent his time on it, I think he deserves a bit more recognition.

Why? They hired him to do a job, he did it, they payed him, end of story. If he didn't manage to get payed enough, he should learn some negotiating skills.

This thread is nothing more than a giant claim and an informative post about how ignorant you are about the business world.

because you are acting like an whistler blower, a bad one, you are probably going to ruin his career for him. Scott is definitely looking at this website, they definitely know who you are talking about, and they are definitely never going to work with him again now, all definitely for definitely.

Really.
He designed a pair of goggles and got paid for it. Im sure there was a contract and he fulfilled his obligation. Obviously they liked his design if they are having him design more.
And of course they are going to entice him to keep quiet. They dont want their product leaked. And the other side of that coin is being "bribed" (if you would even call it that) is one of the perks of working in the industry. I'd rather be bribed then just told to keep quiet in a contract. Its not like he is being bribed to keep his mouth shut about a crime or something.

He probably works for a design firm that had a hand in designing the Frame of the goggle. All the graphics/Artwork/straps/lenses/etc are all done in house at SCOTT USA in Ketchum, ID and manufactured in Ogden, UT.
