that SUCKS! It would have survived if they allowed subscriptions instead of just selling it through ski shops, but then again, they probably did that to make people go to ski shops, because they were so core... well, it looks like I'll be subscribing to SBC skier

^man your retarded SBC Skier is core, Freeze is full of junk shit. SBC has all mountain plus park and well written articles that acutally have meaning to them. AXIS was alright it was a little small but it still had good articles.

Matt Lev really ran Axis well. The articles were inventive and interesting, the ANGRY ARMY essay every month was probably the most HONEST writing in any ski magazine, and it was generally TOP NOTCH, even with the short length. ill defintely miss it

axis was only available at ski shops? i coulda sworn i remember buying it at an airport duty free shop. but for smaller magazines sometimes making every other page ads is the only way to survive, maybe thats why axis is no more. i'll miss it, i was thinking about picking up a subscription.

i used to buy mine at lawblaws and chapters, and i tried to get a subscription but they just never sent it. man I love that mag, always good pics, articles about good stuff (the sequence). a bit short though, but they made the pages count.

Putting ads in magazine helped generate $$ to pay for the photographs, printing, all that fees. That's why Freeze's still up and running after all these years with tons of ads in it.

'It was probably the most improved park in north america last year. That's mostly due to us getting up at fucking 8 am everyday and raking like monkeys, untill we were to baked to talk. Every now and then some texan would eat shit and it would be funny and we would call ski patrol on our radios. we would steal food from the base and cook it on our grill, then heckle people on the lift with our mega phone while we played frisbee across the run. and took naps behind the shack in the most exclusive hut on the mountain. o christ, best winter ever.'
