Just bought a macbook what do i need to know +k for info

ive never used a mac before what are some sweet features? im all about stumbling upon new shit but to speed up the learning curve any tips would be sweet!

cmd+c for copy
cmd+v for paste though you probably new those

cmd+shift+4 for when you want to take a screen shot of a certain area


one thing i see with a lot of mac users they either don't know how to resize their dock, or they have really poor eye site and keep them huge

incase you want to resize it, click the apple in the top left of your computer screen then system preferences, then click on dock and mess with the settings.

oops. Stuff you'll want:

Vuze or uTorrent - Torrent programs
Little Snitch - Lets you control incoming/outgoing network activity
Handbrake - DVD Ripping
Toast - CD/DVD Burning
GeekTools - Desktop Customization
iWork/Office for Mac - Word processing, presentations, spreadsheets. I prefer iWork.
Senuti - Pulls music from iPod.
Google Chrome
Google Maps
Paintbrush - Like MS Paint

Take the time to learn keyboard shortcuts for everything. If you have an iPod, set it up on a Windows computer, Macs lock you to one computer. Play around with Spaces, Hot corners, etc...

na as long as you have it set to manually select songs it doesn't matter.

Is the program you use to pull songs from your ipod free/legit? I've had some trouble with this.

-VLC player
-And a Super Nentindo Emulator

Command+Q closes programs, unlike just clickin the red x that just closes windows.

Keep SD cards away from the CD slot.

Any electronic will fry if you get it wet and let it run. That being said, I dropped an entire vodka-cran on my g4 PBook's keyboard, and it was fine. Some sticky keys but, meh. My homie also had almost an entire handle of vodka spill into his MBook keyboard, and it was also fine after a battery pull and dry.
