Simple Frame Size Question

I'm playing and watching a lot of Vimeo tutorials regarding video editing right now, and I was just wondering if I want to use footage out of a T2i filming in 1920x1080 as well as footage out of a GoPro filming in 1280x720....do I need to scale them both to 720? If not, what is the best method for maintaining original quality while ensuring the shots meld together nicely?

scaling 1080 to 720 is much better than upressing 720 to 1080.

When i have both, i do a 720 timeline.

i usually export my edits to 720p. it definatly keeps the quality if you down size the footage size and it is a smaller file! You might have to play around with exporting your edit into diffrent formats or if your program can do this, you will have to play around with the aspect ratio.
