Wallisch grab

I checked Turbo yesterday and I was wondering what was the name of the grab Wallisch was doing at Hood when he grabbed the nose of his right ski with his right hand (ski crossed)

It's like doing an octo grab without grabbing the tail...

I have heard many names for that grab, but I don't think there is a set in stone name because not many people do it. You should ask tom what he calls it!

This. Seatbelt is the snowboard/skateboard version that is pretty standard, and it is basically the same. I've always called it a seatbelt.

this. rip to dank is what i've heard east coast kids call it, but i prefer hook. regardless it's a really sick grab and a lot harder than you'd think.

nowadays everyone use to call it unmute but at the beginning it was antoine gagnier who was doing this grab and it was called the toni
the phil grab was more a safety where you cross your ski the toni is kinda the same but grabbing the nose of your ski and crossing your skis

It's not lead mute, lead mute is a totally different grab and is only referred to as "lead" or "opposite" relative to the direction of the spin. For example, if I grab mute left hand to right ski, but spin left, that'd be lead or opposite mute. Mostly, kids do lead mute when they're spinning unnatty. Mute grabs are always opposite hand to opposite ski, or reaching across your body.

OP is asking about when Tom grabs same hand, same ski in the traditional mute spot in front of the binding, or sometimes higher up towards the nose, and tweaks it inward, exactly like half of an octograb. Where did rip2dank come from? I personally like hafto.

Related question:

What's the grab that Sammy and others do where they grab high safety and kick the same leg out? I think I've heard "bro kang" before, but I don't know...Love that grab, wish it was done more often.
