Random lung collapse

so my buddy and i were headed to walmart the other day when he gets this sharp pain in his chest and could barely walk, so we take him to the ER and they finally check him out, seems like his lung just decided to collapse on him and he's in the hospital for the next couple of days. the only reason the doctor gave us as to why this could happen was "well, your a tall skinny white male, and that can just kind of, happen, to tall white skinny males." so if your a tall skinny white male watch out for your lung to randomly collapse

Yep! Spontaneous pneumothorax - I had one that was induced by a fall skiing and my other one collapsed too. This what at the time I ruptured my esophagus skiing.

I had two surgeries over the course of the year, hope your friends was a small collapse and it inflates back up!
