Okay so I have been hitting my newly built backyard rail for the past week or so and it has been working fine. The rail itself is made of galvanized steel pipe (if that makes a difference?) and I have been putting some ski wax on it to make it slipperier. I hit it today and it got really sticky. I put some more wax on it and it was pretty much the same. My skis were newly waxed, too. What should I do?
Well personally, I think you need to wait until the summer time and round up a bunch of teenage girls and get them horny as fuck with Twilight or something. Then, you must make them squirt their bodily fluids into a cup and let it sit for 2-4 weeks. Take that fluid an apply it to every inch of the rail, including the legs and feet. Let it sit for 4-8 hours and BAM, your rail is unstickyified.
Probably has something to do with the galvanized. I wouldn't use it and don't try to weld it. The vapor released from welding galvanized is cyanide. It will kill you! Use cold rolled steel. BAJ101
