pro tip: peasant noobs that don't eat seafood often use butter. it masks the seafood taste. something that subtracts from the overall quality of the meal.

whatever dude, spout all the high class mumbo jumbo you want I'm still dipping all my seafood in butter. Actually I pretty much just coat anything I eat in butter mmmmmmmm cholesterol.

What you are referring to is bycatch... it happens with most methods of fishing these days but you can use http://www.seachoice.org/ to make a more informed decision on what you eat that is more sustainable and reduces the amount of bycatch.  The entire fisheries system these days is quite horrible and is fuckin shitttt up.... but there's always other options.

On another note......

holy shit I could go for some trout, salmon, clams.........or basically anything seafood now.  I always end up goin to my sustainability and enviro studies classes where we're taught about fisheries and such things and damn it just makes me hungryyyyyyy

Chesapeake blue crab is the best crab i have ever had. nothing beats east coast crab cakes or random, Minnesota pork chops. lol

I don't know man, I've been eating blue crab for years now. Last summer my step dad was working in alaska and shipped back some king crab legs and they were unreal.

Greatest campout dinner I ever had was boiling crab and lobster in the blackwoods campground at acadia national. I think every one of our neighbors was jealous haha. yes we ate them with butter.

i fish albacore tuna, how do you feel about that?

here is a video of me killing a couple, before i got those fish in the boat i had to pull them in by hand with a line 1.2mm in diameter for 40 feet, with a 36 pound fish at the end of the line that can do speed bursts of over 60mph. most we ever caught in a 16 hour day was 200 fish at 12 pound average. are you going to say thats not sustainable?




also, not all tuna are seine net caught, to which you are referring. albacore for instance is jig caught. we never had by catch. caught a couple of yellow tail, but there is an entire different market for those down south so they get caught anyways.



if you want to eat tuna from the can, the most sustainable is skipjack which is often caught with a pole and jig. a lot more sustainable then seine fishing. like this,





so maybe you should get educated on different kinds of tuna fishing before spouting off your crap, and alienating the good sustainable parts of the industry.
