Getting into Photography

So I decided to try to get into photography, and invest in a t1i. i've taken a few shots that i like (Below) and would like some critiques.

Well you've certianly covered the beginner shots,

B&W shot
Flower shot
Shallow depth of field shot
Long exposure
cute insect shot
&& the double whammy!
B&W & Shallow dof!

But seriously, now that you've got that behind you, start shooting things you care about. What good do cutesy shots do you? What do they mean to you?

Youve got some basics figured, but dont add (or at least that much) vignette to your pictures, and yeah, other than that they are not bad! the first one has kind of a vibe to it and the long exposure looks good.

Exactly.

Like everything else there are certain things beginners do, and shots like that are it. It's like people who start skiing park and go 50-50 boxes or whatever. Now that you've done that, look around at photogs websites, magazines or photo books and see whats up. And not specifically at your editing, but the best editing is not easily detected. You could spend an hour for somebody not to notice, and that's good. That's just a tip.
