GoPro questions

Soo Today we used my friends gopro to film some footage. His is the 1080p GoPro and it is formatted for a PC. I went to view the footage by plugging in his gopro to my MacBook. I turned it on and the "USB" on the lcd screen wouldnt show up. So i took his memory card out of his gopro and put it into my gopro (960p formatted to a MAC) and then turned my gopro on and it worked. I could view the clips. So i moved them to my desktop then tried to import into FCE 4 and it said "(1) file selected, (0) imported (0) recognized" or something like that. Does anyone know how i can edit his footage on my mac? Please help and +K

What are you talking about? It's just a memory card. Plug it in, click on it, enjoy film. I use my Go Pro on both PC and Mac all the time and I have no idea what this formatting is that you speak of. All the computer is doing is reading the card like the camera is a thumb drive.

You need to convert the files into a file that works with FCE, download mpeg stream clip www.squared5.com and then convert all of your gopro files to "apple intermediate codec" check out this thread for more help. https://www.newschoolers.com/ns/forums/readthread/thread_id/596701/
