Yes. Although some might get in some of the ports. Dry pasta works too. And don't turn it on till it's all dry.

Mine sank to the bottom of a pond during a wake boarding mishap.  The waterproof case cracked and all sorts of water got inside.  I let it sit in a bag of pasta for almost 2 weeks (overkill I'm sure) and now it works great.  Good luck!

Well we saw where it fell in and it was in a snow making pond, so it was pretty clear water.  The dude who runs the wakeboard park had some snorkeling gear, so he jumped in and found it right away.  Got super lucky. And GoPro replaced the waterproof housing for free.

id let it sit in the bag of rice for 5 days minimum for maximum chances of it working again.
