Your major and why

Just starting college searching and it blows. I know a major isn't 100% necessary right from the start but some ideas of good majors plus a job that follows that are things to think about. What is your major and what job are you pursuing?

don't know exactly where im going yet because i have yet to audition anywhere, but i've limited myself to only big cities like nyc, boston, montreal, toronto, and chicago.

i applied to
new england conservatory, mcgill, nyu, northwestern, juilliard, utoronto, and the new school
i passed prescreening for all but juilliard.

what is your connection to jazz? do you play an instrument?

im going to be an automotive technician. i want to work for Porsche.


my mom kept pushing to become a pharmacist or some other medical field, but honestly, im not that intelligent and blood scares me a little, ive always wanted to go to school for auto but was kinda turned away because there arent really any schools near any mountain but i just kinda bit the bullet and enrolled in a great school. its gonna be a lot less snowboarding than im used to for about two years, but i will get to work on cars every day and i do love that almost as much as i love snowboarding, so i figure it will be ok.

Dont fucking go there if you want to hold a job down.

They have the most fucked up schedule that changes every single month, with like 4 am labs, and shit.

Not only that, but they arnt truly accredited, and their statistics count getting you a job at Best Buy, as in being in the Gaming Industry.

but i've taken all the premed classes and stuff, so i'll probably end up doing that.

really though, i have no idea what the hell i want to do. and i'm almost done with college. you've got plenty of time man.

BA in History and BS in Anthropology already. working on my MA in Geography next. I work as an archaeologist, work hard all summer, ski hard all winter.

English Literature b/c im a retard. Kind of wish I studied something else, but I will be done in 2 months so it's all good. I will go to grad school for something more pragmatic.

you mean a masters? havent heard of a major in pa. but thats sick i want to go to PA school, really interested in the University of utahs program
im history and bio double major. I havent encountered anyone else on ns interested in physicians assistant studies. also gonna apply to med school and see how that goes, interested in either orthopedic surgery or emergency

im reading a very interesting book about cancer, its called 'emperor of all maladies' highly recommend it i have no idea how to provide the spark notes because theres so much but heres a synopsis.
