searchbared not very hard but whatever. i'm looking at buying a pair of used skis (as i'm sure a lot of people are). what are some things typically to look out for in buying used skis aside from the obvious.
few thoughts, is it bad to buy a used demo ski? # of mounts? place of the holes? its hard putting a good sum of money into something thats not new.
Used skis are great because you pay a fraction of the price of new ones and often get a better bang for your buck. Look for models that are either recent (I.e 2 year old or less) or at the very least classic (i.e Ar6). Try to get some with only one mount becasue it increases your mounting options. Demo skis are no problem as long as you don't care about the added weight of the demo binding, they actually eliminate the mounting problem completely. Inspect the base for excessive damage core shots etc...check the edges for cracks or seperation from the base.... Alot of people get twin tips that never go into the park...this is what you are looking for. Always ask questions like why are you getting rid of these or do you like to pretzel or what is you best trick..and the answers will reveal the type of abuse they have taken.
