he touched the ground and never got any shit towards him, in skiing slopestyle you put a hand down and they criticize so hard, and when the one guy crashed before Shawns last run he was already celebrating and shit at the top, yeah I would be mad stoked but all his fame is getting to his head, he needs to humble out a bit

kazu got smoked by the judges and everyone knows it. he went huge, had insane style, and threw frontside and backside spins. he only thing he could have done better was throw in a dub first hit IMO

his first two hits were the best hits i've ever seen in pipe. massive amplitude, totally calm in the, great style. that's the way it should be done. ill.

vito's run was sick, too. really tech. just not a whole lot of amplitude. kid's gotta bring it next time.

what just because vito didn't boost 18 feet out of the pipe with a straight air he needs to go bigger. If anyone else would have had their first trick be a straight air no matter how big they would have gotten deducted a lot of points. Shaun White throws a straight air (yes it was huge props) and his double Mqtwist (once again props) but landed it a little sketch and get rewarded a 97.33, while vito pumps out 3 dubs and a 12 (granted no grab) and you say he needs to go bigger. Regardless of the amount of air he had he should have gotten a way better score.

It's hard not to start ???'ing someone when they are so dominant.    I just think it's natural to want someone else to have a chance!! It's boring when the same kid wins over and over.   BUT that said he deserved to win because he did go way bigger than Kokubo

the only guy who could have challenged him was Iouri Podlatchikov, he's got the same doubles (also mctwist) but no straight air on top etc. too bad he hurt is shoulder pretty hard in practice earlier in the week! i'd have loved to see someone putting pressure on shaun!

yeah i loved kazus run he should have podiumed, vitos hits were like 2 feet out but he did go a ways down the pipe, butvito was lucky to get third... i think if you have watched shaun since he was a kid you would appreciate how cool he is, i want to fuck his sisters though

Just watched the top 4 pipe runs on ESPN. Definitely think the Japanese guy got screwed. He had the best mix of difficulty and amplitude. Shawn far and way got the most amplitude but was the only one that did a straight air on their first hit (how can judges really reward that?). Vito was sick, but definitely needs to get out of the pipe more and Lago was really solid throughout. My opinion on order:

1) Kazu
2) Lago
3) White

its like in nascar..Jimmie Johnson has won 5 championships in a row, and now everyone hates him..same thing here, wither people want to admit it or not, White is the best, and will always be the best unless someone steps up..its not about the dubs or the tech tricks, its about going out there and going big and making your run flawless like he does. He goes twice as big as everyone else, and makes all of his tricks with ease. Sure he didnt land the mick twist as perfect as he would like, but if thats the only thing you can point out of his run that was negative, then you all have a problem. We shouldn't hate. Just give him props for being so good, and give the other competitors props as well, and maybe one day, some how, someone will take the gold. Because wither you all want to admit or not, he does deserve to win.

Most years in the past, I have always thought his runs were noticeably better than those of the other competitors, but this year i honestly think his name and the hype surrounding it won. A straight air and a sketchy landing would definitely not have earned any of the other riders a 97.33. The straight air alone should have almost kept him off the podium in my opinion. And I agree with everyone else, Kazu got robbed.
