Line after bangs cons?

hey guys, just wondering the cons of the line after bangs. My masterminds snapped (don't recommend) and I need a new pair of durable fast

Need to be waxed often because of the extruded bases. They are heavy and are pretty much a rail ski. Any jumps bigger then 35 feet will get a little sketchy because of the flex.

well i skied on my friends real soft one day because i forgot was stuck at the ski hill and didn't have my boots, and the butterzones are nice: real flexible, but still giving you control over the ski. also, they seemed like they had REAAALLLY slow bases. from what i've heard they also chip fast.

They chip fast, but overtime it really doesn't matter. jumps over 40 feet or so can be a little scary. I lover them though for jibbing.

well good thing there is a difference between Masterminds, and Afterbangs.


Take a look at the Stepups.

They are basically a more park oriented Afterbang, and not just for rails

I love my Step-Ups. Great for jumps and rails. Just depends if you want a buttery or solid ski.

I my experience, both are durable and fantastic park skis.

I broke a pair of Masterminds too.

I haven't skied on abangs but from what I know they are on the heavy side, noodly, and slow. That being said they will take a beating like a boss.

Easy

Afterbang cons: A) Overwhelmed by anything outside of the park.  B) Noodle like flex if you are a heavier rider  D) Bases are reputed to be slow without constant waxing (I never noticed, but that was a while ago...) C) Can get a high performing used ski for a similar price.  D) skateboard construction is a simple marketing ploy to appeal to the skatepark crowd... it is not better perfoming or more durable than sidewall contruction. I mean really... skateboards break all the time and are designed to be cheap and replacable, otherwise nobody would ever grind anything

Okay let' s be positive for a moment: Afterbang pros: A) Cheap and easily replaceable  B) Even flex is easy to learn to butter with. C) Performs in the park as intended

just skied last weekend with a friend who had em. he was makin rails look easy, and he had no complaints about jumps and were talking 50 foot jumps. just sayin i dont think theyre all that bad over big air

I like my step ups until i started riding my watch lifes now i feel the step ups are SOOOOOO SLOW, shitty base quality, and the 184 was to long for me

My masterminds are alot more buttery than my afterbangs, and i use my afterbangs more, they chip real easy, but other than that there great skis.

The afterbang is a really solid ski for those looking to jib around the park and not much else.

If you plan on doing jumps my vote would be going for Stepups, as the double carbon ollieband stiffens the ski up enough to reduce vibrations you get from not landing jumps perfectly.

(More vibrations = more stress on a ski)

i was very surprised in the shop when i picked them up how heavy they really are.

the skate deck construction is a pretty interesting idea tho. just don't see it staying around.

The tops scratch easy, the bases are slow and there kinda sketchy at high speeds but there definitly worth the money there a super fun ski and are pretty durable besides from the scratching.
