I thought the ski half pipe was exciting to watch cause it came down to the final run on who was gonna win

I honestly don't think it was ever a serious competition. I'm a cynical person, but its hard for me not to notice when the backstories and profiles of their "favorite" (marketable) atheletes is reflected in the judging on a pretty regular basis. I still watch it because its cool to see what everyone is throwing down, but you can't really expect it to be about the atheletes.

which is pretty much dew tour. but even that will probably become a media shitshow in the future. I can only really see events like JOSS really focusing so much on style and the people in it, and not on celebrity... but i would be the last one to ask about big time contests

good lord, talk about 30 minutes of sucking on shawn white's ballsack. seriously espn, you can stop gargling now. kazu got straight fucked over, same with lago, and poor vito has to pull the most ridiculous shit a midget has ever done on a board just to get bronze...his first xgames medal. vito has a track record of getting f'd over in this comp, so its no real surprise there i guess.

damn this xgames sucked total ass. im not sure if i've ever been so bored with a comp before, hardly any innovative stuff, all spin to win. you'll win if you can spin seventybillion times, no matter how ugly you look while doing it.

idk dew tour has potential...as long as they dont hire sal....but only skiers can really tell what the difficulty of tricks is idk who the judges are but they clearly don't know what trick is harder...just like sal doesn't know what a cork is. the judges just want to see who can twirl themselves around the most times. and over the years i have asked myself in slope style why is it the only thing that really seams to count are the jumps? if they only count the jumps why bother wasting time and effort on the rails? as x games gets bigger it will become more corrupt and thats the sad truth. but it's still sick to watch even if the people that don't deserve to win, win, since there always is progression at x. even when the jumps aren't big enough.

Especially because they are the new Oakley ones that aren't available to the public. Maybe if they were aframes or something, but Oakley can't let their new product out to the public yet

X Games totally sucks.....The majority of skiiers HATE it, they only do it because their sponsers make them and because the money....not contest has a bigger pay out then xgames.

first of all, you've been a member since 09, not much longer than ANYBODY. second, it was hard to understand you with those nuts in your mouth.

there were plenty of highlights: hatveit's octo grabs, slews of right side doubles, schlopy taking landings dEEp, sammy and his 'amped on life' slope-destruction, jossi looking like he never left the ground, and I didn't even watch pipe yet. bobby skied through pain to give it all he had, and mixed up his grabs too. the level of skiing at this X was higher than ever before, once again. They just need bigger jumps 'cause our pros can smooth shit out way more.

also, for the record, henriks blunt 14 wasn't that clean. take xgames for what's it worth. turn off the sound and crank your own beats if you don't like listening to their announcers.

Plus I agree with Kier [and] KP. You have to have the big tricks, stomp your landings, and flash your grabs to place well. There's room for style in every event, but you gotta have more than that to take home the hardware.

so basically all you need to do to win xgames is wear the most hideous outfit anyone outside of a city gutter has ever seen, have red hair, and not have the decency to take your damn bandana off when you're being interviewed on national television? shawn white had three clean tricks in his winning run, and two of them were basically the same trick. he scrubbed the landing on the last flaily mctwist thing or whatever by about 90°, and he had a straight air. can you imagine the uproar and the comments from the announcers if somebody on skis did a straight air during their pipe run and won? kazu got ripped off. he consistently aired high, grabbed longer, and landed better. i've never gotten so worked up over watching tv before as i did at the ridiculousness that happened last night.

At this point, it shouldn't surprise you that was said. I don't even fault the announcers, it is what it is.  X-Games have been a huckfest for the last 15 years.  Seriously, I don't remember one winner who wasn't hucking their shit out of control.

Dont really agree with it on a whole, but it gets skiing out there even more, shows how badass it is, and helps the pros get paid.
