Won't let me change my icon?

when i try to upload the pic, it doesn't change anything. icon is still the same. halp?

I can delete your icon and you can upload a new one. Or try signing out and back in.

i'll PM you when i want you to delete it. i tried deleting mine then uploading the new one and when i clicked upload and the page loaded, i just got the same icon.

Ya and now instead of uploading my new icon it just uploads my old penguin one? I checked the size and it's not giving me any error messages.

Please try this:

Right click on your icon and click "Save As" or "Save Image As", save the image. 
Check the file extension, it should end in ".gif" or ".jpg" or something similar.
Upload a new icon with a different extension (eg: if the old one was .gif, upload a .jpg). 

Does it work when you do that?

sometimes i just go "view image" then i refresh the page(granted this is after I uploaded a new differently named file. and after a few refreshes the icon changes.

Sometimes it's just the computer that you're on.. Like it took a day at my house to change icons from the old to the new, but the same day at a school computer it showed the new icon..

Alright.

The problem is that the image is being cached by the CDN.  Your new image is actually there, but it may take a little while for the change to get picked up by the servers serving the media.

I'll look into a better way to change this image so the change is instant.

ive waited 3 days now. I've also tried saving it as a different file type but it goes to something else I've recently had. : (

So i just uploaded a different icon, and it worked perfectly, then I tried to upload the one I want and it went back to the old icon I was trying to get rid of.

it still wont let me change my icon. i do it as a gif, and it makes the quality really crappy. and i try to do a jpeg one, and it loads an old saga one i had. its gettin kinda annoying.

your icon looks pretty good to me.

but seriously not like im gonna die or my life is gonna end if if i can't change me icon, but i never had this problem in the past. Guess you just have to settle with the one you currently have.
