AVCHD file trouble K+ for halp.

so i just bought one of THESE



and i dont have a memory card for it.
so i rely on internal memory (it has a lot of it)


1st, when i try connecting it to a mac, the files are not recognized and they are MTS files


The camera came with a CD for my windows, which lets me watch the clips (HD and all)


I want to be able to get these files onto my mac because i have final cut. I tried to send them to a friend, but it takes forever to send, tried to put em on filefront and megaupload but that takes forever. the Cd program allows me to change the AVC HD to mpeg-2, but the quality goes down the shitter.

DONT TAKE THEM OF YOUR CAMERA!!! If you did then you're basically fucked. If you still have them on your camera connect it to your mac, open final cut, open the log and transfer window (cmd+shift+8) and your camera should pop up and you can transcode them to prores 422.

theyre still on my camera. I'll try the FCE transfer. I tried mpeg streamclip, but it didnt recognize the file :(

oh if you have FCE transcode to Apple Intermediate Codec

You can log and transfer when files are off of your camera...

really? I feel like I tried it once without havingthe whole file structure of the camera and it fucked everything up. idk

All you have to have is the file that has the raw clips in it, open up log and transfer and hit the add button which is either bottom left or top left of the window where the clips show up, i think its top left.

I could have sworn that it doesn't work if you only have the clips, you have to have the whole file structure of the camera or at least a copy of it. You might be right though

I think if theyre in a folder it works, all it does is read the clips, not the structure of the camera...
