What's the best advice ever yelled at you?

At one point or another we have all had another skier yell advice at us. They may happen to be riding by on the lift as you face-plant trying to do a 360 daffy, or they might be your best friend pumping you up to charge into something retarded.

Either way, this one goes out to all of those educating the skiing community through embarrassment.

not me, but i was at schweitzer one day and some snowboarder tried to back flip off this 20 ft cliff, took it about 30-40 and under-rotated bad, basically bellyflopping and blowing up his face. and it was 4 inches of blower on top of week old bulletproof.

dude behined me on the lift yells "you gotta commit"

then his buddy yelled "hey your goggles are over their...just follow the blood"

Being told to relax an take the fall and not get all tense before I crash.


Not skiing advice but at work I used to put my hands in places that sooner or later I probably would of lost a finger and a old guy told me "If you wouldn't put your dick there you probably shouldn't put your fingers there" Still got 10fingers and 10 toes. Best advice ever IMO!!

if a gaper falls over its always helpful to yell "watch out....there's a bump there!" while pointing to the spot where they lost it. can be hilarious if the timing is right.

i was skiing on this super cloudy day in a place i dont know to well sking down this powdery bowl and some guy on the chair yells cliff and i just new he was talking to me so i made a hard left and avoided the highest part of a sketchy ass rocky cliff

I was riding up the lift with this dude and a gaper was skiing underneath us and he starts yelling:

"Hey, hey you! You lost something!"

The gaper stopped and looked behind himself and around and looks up and goes "What did I lose!?"

Dude goes "You're speeeed, suckah!"


Not advice, but yelling. So it counts.

I try not to do it but the best advice you could yell at a snowboarder is to "turn" when they are sliding on their back edge down a steep run.  Probably one of the only things I consistently feel like yelling at others about.

This is solid advice. The more you try and fight it, the more you're going to get hurt. Just go with the flow and be aware of your body positioning so you don't lose limbs. As stupid as it sounds, knowing how to fall will save yourself a lot of pain.

It's the same theory as to why the "drunk driver always survives the crash and the sober person is killed" - the drunk guy is "relaxed".
