Dual monitors with a macbook?

is there an easy way to plug an extra monitor in to my macbook? i dont want to spend 150 $ on the stupid matrox adapter.

thats the thing, macbooks dont come with a vga port. i think i found an adapter online. thanks though

read my last post. go on amazon and buy a vga adapter made by apple for like 10 bucks and a vga cable for like 2 dollars. done

Another reason to not buy macs, everything you wanna do with them costs 20 bucks. Open safari... 20 bucks. Turn it on... 20 bucks

Seriously? Just buy a monitor that has a DVI input, and a DVI cable, or buy a DVI to VGA cable.

dude, did you even attempt to see what your apple store has to offer? when i wanted to hookup my computer to a monitor i just drove to the store, bought the adapter, then to best buy and got an HDMI cable. thats it. oh and i just watched the tourist with my setup. audio out (headphoen jack) to my surorund sound and MiniDV to HDMI to 1080p 50' tv. thats the way to go.
honestly, just go to an apple store. well, ima watch black swan now, hope u figure it out...

thats 3 options that took me less then a minute to find, probably less time then it took you to make this thread. i bought my mini display port to HDMI on ebay, cost me $7 and my TV came with a hdmi cable so that wasnt a problem.

I believe his question was actually geared to having two seperate monitors running alongside his macbook pro.. therefore 3 screens. The matrox box is the only unit that I know of that can do this. The cord that was posted that you can purchase from apple is what you'd need for just an hdmi cord and one monitor.

The problem is that Apples laptops only support one graphics card. If you get into a Mac Pro, you can have two cards and they actually have two ports on the back for dual monitors.

I know it wasn't intended for me but AVG free is a very good anti virus software thats free, and I know if you are a Comcast internet customer you get free Norton security. I have been using AVG free for 2 years and haven't had a problem. That and you and I both know macs can get viruses too.
