Say what you want about him being in a ton of commercials, but he's not going hungry, he's the most recoginizable man in biking (of any discipline), and he is still amazing. He is still one of the 5 best cyclists in the world, at least and trains like few other people in the world. He is insane.

who cares about cycling? are you serious? the tour de france has more spectators than any other sporting event in history....maybe not many in the us. but its huge in europe. and lance is pretty amazing if you ask me.....over coming cancer where he had a 2% chance of living and then winning the most grueling(sp) bike race 5 times in a row. id like to see alot of people ride 8 hr days for 21 days straight in the alps.

and for the guy who said who cares about road biking.....who cares about skiing dude...im sure that never comes up...theres a billion people that could really give a rats ass bout skiing. dont get me wrong....i love skiing more than life it self but to say that no one cares about something is a fuckin retarded statement....especialy when its something you obviously know nothing about.

He only makes 400 000 in earnings a year. For being one of the most recognizable athletes... that's nothing.

Haven't seen him in the commercial with Super T though. If anyone has a link I'd like to see it.

I found the article. He makes $460 000 a year in winnings. He makes an additional $16 500 000 (Lebron makes $35 000 000) a year in the endorsements we've been talking about.

Comparitavely Tiger Woods makes $6 673 413 a year in winnings, and $70 000 000 in endorsements.

Kobe Bryant is the richest rapist in America, rak(p)ing in over 25 million a year.

Well all these Lance threads have inspired me to go ride... XC that is. What's the appeal in riding road when you could ride trails? ...Other than telling your buddies you went on a 100km ride instead of an equally exhausting 40km ride.

Lance Arnstrong is no doubt the biggest beast the world has ever seen. he had 2 tumors in his brain, and 11 in his lungs and was given a 2% chance of life, he survived and won 5 tour de frances riight afterwards. he deserves to be recognized, end of story

Not to take anything away from the guy cause he is the man, but I heard he has something genetically different about him where he naturally has significantly higher red blood count than most people, thus allowing to carry more oxygen. Does anyone else know if this true or has at least heard of it?

Lance was too big to ever win the Tour de France before he got cancer. Without cancer he would never have been such a great cyclist... way to take advantage of a bad situation!

part of his success is said to be because of they pain that you go through when you fight cancer is horrible and hard to deal with. cycling also creates a tremendous amount of pain but its nothing compared to what he went through with cancer so he sees the pain when cycling as nothing and can ignore it much better than most other riders.
