S3 vs. Blend vs. Kung Fujas

Ok so im looking for a all mtn ski one that will do every thing from fresh pow in the trees and groomers to park laps all day. first off im 5'6 150lbs age 17 done growing acorrding to my doctor. i ski the east coast mount snow, okemo,sunapee, and loon

I want the ski to be soft and yet still be able to charge a groomer every now and then and to be able to duck in and out of the trees. it has to slay rails and be able to handle like 30 foot jumps

Blends are gonna be the softest. I have a pair of kung fujas that I love stiff enough for me to ski around on but I can still butter. Ok on rails. Good on jumps. For info I am 14 6 foot 5ish, and 260 pounds. I got the 189s. I am a type 3 skier

blends are far from the softest.

10/11 kung fujas is BY FAR the softest of the three skis. The S3 follows that (still soft in the tip and tail, medium underfoot) followed by the blend (soft tip and tail, medium-stiff underfoot).

You can't go wrong with any of the three, I prefer the blends of the bunch though. The 09/10 Kung Fujas was one of my favorite skis and they (imo) butchered it for this season. The S3 is going to be the middle ground and will do everything admirably, but the stability from the Blends kills it everywhere.

really? Just flexing the blends they felt like noodles? And my fujas seem kinda stiff compared to them. whatever though.

Fujas are some of the softest skis I've ever flexed, and they seemed much softer than blends when I was in the shop. The shop told me they ski stiffer than they are.



Never skied em though

They are ridiculously soft in the tip and tall but they are stiffer underfoot. Maybe thats why flexing them they seem so soft and same with the blends.

Kung Fujas are plenty stiff enough to rail groomers but you can still do butters. I am 5'11" about 160. They don't seem unreasonably soft but my other skis are hellbents and invaders so I guess it's all relative. One of the most versatile skis out there.

I would say kung fujas would be your best bet of the three. S3's are a more freeride oriented ski that can still manage in the park. Blends are really soft and from what i've heard don't really excell in one area specifically. I've heard awesome things about fujas'es this year though, they have a really light swing weight, awesome on rails, and truly a one ski quiver that perfect for the ice coast.
