Go pro editing and uploading for windows?

Ik Ian Provo uses final cut pro but i dont have a mac. I do have sony vegas 10 hd platinum but its hard to get the ropes. Plus video is laggy but thats my computer any ideas to make look as good as ian provo or abek?

i use cyberlink powerdirector and its a lot easier to use than vegas i find. i just started using it though so im still figuring everything out. what you can do is download the trial version from their website and then download a keygen or something to get a serial code. its illegal though lol but if you actually buy it it costs like 500$ or something

I have an hp dv6500 laptop and an older desktop with only 1gb ram and like 2.0 ghz so the laptop is where im at

you GoPro shots wont lag. you just dont have really any color correcting

I just tried using this, its pretty easy to use. However it just rapes the quality of my video when i save the movie. Is there something im doing wrong?

gopro video lags in vegas for a lot of people, myself included. you need to convernt it to a different format than it uploads in such a wmv or something that doesnt kill the quality. then it should play back fine

Cyberlink powerdirector is like 70$, or just download it free. I found it overly simplified, I didn't like the effects and I had extremely limited control on the video. I got over it in about a month and switched to premiere pro cs5, which may seem a bit complicated at first, but if you take your time and learn how to use it, it's really good. And there are free tutorials for it at creativecow. I would recommend it. Since you have vegas which is pretty decent, the speed issue is probably your computer. Best of luck.

I have Vegas Pro (had platinum until a month ago). I find it really easy to use, and there are some handy tutorials at the top bar that take you through the basics. And for your laggy preview problems, if you have a regular computer your going to have to highlight then shift+b to render each clip to watch it smoothly. Its such a bitch thats why i don't edit on my laptop anymore.

the mp4 files that the gopro uses are not ideal for editing. Even in CS4 you had to convert the files to .mov before you could edit them properly.

CS5 has fixed this. Go to Adobe's website and download the CS5 demo and see if it works for you. Your computer is going to have to be fairly fast to handle HD video rendering, but if it is fast enough then CS5 can handle the .mp4 file type.

For reference, I am running:

Intel Core i7 920 @ 2.67 GHz
12.00 GB RAM
64-bit OS

5TB Raid Drive
1TB System Drive
4TB Network Drive

NVIDIA Quadro FX 1800

Even with the above specs CS4 would not work with the GoPro .mp4 files..but CS5 does.
