My lower back has been hurting so I've been seeing a chiropractor. I had a x-ray done and my chiropractor says that it's a textbook compression injury in the lower back and that he sees it all of the time with skiers and snowboarders. I've been seeing him for about a month but haven't felt much improvement in my back so far. It hasn't gotten any worse though. For anyone who has had similar back pain and has seen a chiropractor, how long did it take before you started noticing an improvement. I'm just wondering if i should stick with it or maybe try PT.
i recommend message therapy! i wish i could make you do it. I have had lower back pain for the last 10 years and a few months ago i was referred to a message therapist.... Rocked my world. It hurt so bad then like a day later... no pain at all...felt like a new man
my back was corkscrewed (compressed and twisted) and I really never had too much pain, but it's still here. ever since grd 5 my back hasn't been the same... I'm grd 11 now (I had a back injury in grd 5, I know it sounds fucking queer hu)
but I would drop off the chiro and go to some physical therapist. see what they say but I would also go in to a message therapist to loosen up the muscles (might take a fee sessions but it's so worth it)
feel better soon
I've seen a chiropractor regularly since I was first born, and I can tell you, they are not a joke. They are some of the most helpful physicians to help get rid of pain. My in your case, I would see my chiropractor and he would know what to do, how to adjust, or send me to therapy or whatever. I can't tell you how much it's helped me in all the high impact sports I do (rugby, downhill mountain biking, skiing) You should ask the chiropractor if he would recommend any therapy which might speed up the recovery process, Because yes, chiropractors are great, but they can't do much if you've damaged tissue.
