New England Backcountry

Thought some of you guys might be interested in this website that has more than 500 closed ski hills/resorts in New England. Especially since we have had a few storms in the past 2 weeks and another storm on the way (6-12 in RI) I think the base for most of these spots might be alright. I am going to check out one of the spots in RI tomorrow.

there are so many places that have closed.  some might be pretty covered and overgrown though

lots of the places are just like little tubing hills

yea I am actually kinda pumped that they are small little backyard type stuff. It makes for quick laps and 400 ft of vert is still pretty fun if its untracked pow.

a few of us hiked up and took a run at haystack right next to mount snow, almost all of it was over grown and really tough to navigate through, there was a trail that didnt look too over grown but it wasnt nearly steep enough to hike back up and ski

Also, anyone that has skied Blue Hills in MA has seen that steep exposed section off the backside of it right? Am I the only one that thinks it looks totally ski-able?

I wasnt able to go, but my buddy went to pine top on saturday and said it was great. They had good cover, the snow was still soft and he even hit a couple cliffs. Said he had to straight line the first half of the hill in order to make a few turns on ther bottom half.

Hopefully we dont get any of the rain they are calling for because we should be gettin another foot between today & tomorrow.

Couple of buddies are thinking about starting up the JB Williams rope tow (glastonbury CT) maybe throwing some jibs in there

yeah blue hills backside would be dope. you can hike up to the tower on top and drop off the back.
