Wiz raps about weed in almost every song. If kids can't figure that out, then they won't see the connection with "Rolling Papers." Everyone who knows of Wiz knows that he smokes a lot, but that doesn't change the fact that he makes good music and people listen to him.

there are better rappers in pittsburgh than mac. i love wiz, i've been a fan for a long time but my mac miller phase died out right after kids.

NS kids are just butt hurt that hes becoming a mainstream artist. We knew about him well before most people because he was so prevalent in ski edits.
Most rappers who are any good are eventually going to be well known now-a-days because of the internet. I guess it loses its glamor if everyone else knows about it though.

so dumb, just shows how lame rap/hip hop has become...the industry is completely dominated by middle/upper class white kids from the suburbs...which is fine, no hate on that, glad people are stoked on the genre...I'm defintily in that demographic, but the problem is now that rappers, trying to make the most money possible (not hate) but then they make music that appeals to these kids who are into other lame shit, don't care about good beats, unique samples from soul/jazz/etc, don't care if someones a good rapper (hence all these 'fratboy' rappers) and lyrically care about the dumbest shit, ie thinking smoking weed is something that makes you cool, like don't get me wrong, back in middle and high school we all thought smoking was bad ass and cool and dangerous and rebelious but now its just like something you choose to do or not, theres nothing cool or special about it, its probably the most simplistic, uninteresting thing you could talk about

With all that being said, this is the first Wiz song I heard and when I did I was like damn I love this beat and who the fuck is this kid hes not a half bad rapper...this was like in 06 or 07 I wanna say but it says 08 so I might be wrong but whatever...anyway so Iistened to some of his other shit and most of his mixtapes are garbage, he dropped a freshman CD that sounded worse than his mixtapes, straight garbage, saw him in concert and that was terrible...then Kush & OJ dropped and I was reluctant, like I was done listening to Wiz, but I heard good things and checked it out and its amazing, start to finish, its a fucking great mixtape, definitly one of my favorites of all time.  Long story short I've heard some of his recent shit (black and yellow obviously) and he did an autotune song recently that was an imitation wayne song that sucked hard...he's basically doing pop music/frat boy/white suburban high school starting smoking pot last year music and I don't really care to listen to an album about rolling papers, which by the way he endorses/owns a rolling papers company...
