Nikon D60 question.

When I change the camera to manuel-focus everything is based off of what was auto-focused.
Im a noob with cameras but does anyone have any input for me?
I cant focus on what I want with this mauel-focus mode.

Make sure your shutter speed is set right, check the green light in the viewfinder and push the shutter down slow.

are you asking why you cant focus on a certain target? you cant automatically focus on any given point. maybe you are too close something. if you want to change the settings, switch to the dial to aperture priority, or shutter speed and adjust to your current circumstances.

Thanks guys.

I guess what I have to do is set a focus point with the auto-focus mode then switch to manuel-focus mode and go from there?

what are you talking about? When using a lens with auto focus (in auto focus mode) you hold the shutter button down half way and the lens wil focus. continue to press down and the camera will take a photo. in manual mode, you focus the lens manually with the focus ring.
