Did i just possibly fuck up my ski??

I unmounted my fks's the other day to fix something, when putting them back on i neglected to use any sort of glue. I have already been skiing several times since. Did is this bbad?

Don't ever fuck around with your bindings, unless you know what you are doing. Take them to a shop.

just pull it off again and put some wood glue or epoxy in the holes and throw em back on. dont want your cores to rot

You have three options:

1.) Unmount again, purchase ski-serts (Small green plastic bead like things that screw into the holes) glue those into the ski, then glue your bindings screws into those when you remount.

2.) Have the shop do it.

3.) Ski them until they inevitably tear out, possibly injure you or others and possibly destroy the ski.


May I suggest option 1 or 2.

i wouldnt say he fucked around with them, he just said he took them off to fix something ...probably the break ( i just had to do something similar lately) and he forgot to use glue when putting them back on.

I really cant understand all these chill reactions when people want to use the same binding holes..its not like a snowboard that you just can get your bindings on and off!

You will get your bindings pulled out a lot quicker now, but good luck with it man..

Take them off, let them dry, then put them back in with wood glue or what ever you wish to use, and hopefully no harm done.

shouldn be a big issue, definatly screw them back in by hand and not with a drill though

Buy quiver killers. Re drill holes with 1/4 inch drill bit. Tap the hole with a 5/16's tap. (if i remember correctly) Insert quiver killers with a little epoxy. Have a better overall set up and you wont risk a rip out.

unless you know what you are doing, i would have a shop do it

add helio coils to the holes and secure with epoxy, then remount the bindings with epoxy in the holes like you normally would.

or just take it to a shop, explain the situation, and have them take the best course of action

so carpenters glue would suffice, just throw some in the holes, screw in the screws then go skiin? (obviously after the glue sets)

No big deal man.
I've done that before with my old skis, I just made sure to fill the holes with wood glue before securing.

With the glue once in there, it has alread made a barrier between the screw and the ski. I highly doubt with the screw secured and with the bit of glue remaining in the hole that you had received any water damage.

Regardless, I'de recommend unscrewing your bindings again and letting the skis dry for a good day or 2 depending on how hot it is.
Throw a bit of wood glue in each hole and screw the bindings back in.
Let it dry overnight and shred in the morning.

I'm sure your once tapped holes still have sturdy integrity.
