Torin Yater Wallace signs with Target

Don't know if this is a repost, but I wanna congratulate my buddy Torin in signing with Target, becoming the 3rd athlete, next to Shaun White and Simon Dumont. Torin is only 15, and is headed to X this week, so wish him luck in his premiere!!!!!!

I met Torin years back in Aspen and everytime i've been there since, he has offered to let me ride with him, which I took advantage of because he was always so damn on point. But, thats not my point..
He really is a genuine kid. He's mind-blown right now..
Think about it.
You get into Dew, because you won GFFTF, which was HUGE to him back then.
So you do dew, ahhah, and do really well. You freak out.

Being a sponsored skier is like a job.  He's only as good to them as the income he brings in/advertising he does such as winning comps.  I doubt he's paid well at all....yet.  But he gets to do what he loves for free all the time, that's pretty priceless in itself.  It's overall a win-win.

Dude, I dont see how u cant call it a sponsorship? Torin is getting paid to rep target and in return target is able to reach out to a whole new demographic, ur silly to think that neither is gaining anything from this deal. Also there is tons of corporate involvement in out sport like the DEW TOUR which is sponsored by MT. DEW which is own by Pepsi Corp. Or toyota who sponsors many events and film companies so dont be so ignorant to think that the corporate world isnt dipping its hand into the world of skiing, because it is and anywhere there's a massive following of some sort of sport or activity there most likely a company not to far behind trying to market to it.

I would be very very surprised if they gave him 70k a year. I would imagine it is fairly low (10-20) with a lot of room for him to make more by getting TV time/winning comps.
